Vote No on Recall ...Barbra Streisand

Posted on October 3, 2003

Regardless of what you think about Grey Davis, we should all be able to agree that we must now stop this attempted hijacking of the democratic process. Impeaching Clinton ...Florida and the 2000 election ... Redistricting in Texas ... now California... What makes the Right Wing think they can just bully and buy their way into power? If we allow this recall to win, we will be setting a dangerous precedent. In this unfair process, a candidate receiving just 30% of the vote could beat Davis, even if the governor receives 49%. Our governor was elected fair and square just a year ago. He deserves the opportunity to serve out his time in office. So get out there on October 7th and vote no on recall !!!

GREAT SUMMARY!

Thank you. Glad to see that you, too, have a life beyond the limericks, puns, and anagrams in the Word For The Day arena.

No, no, that wasn't accidental;
Barbra no doubt knows Mr. Davis better than we do...

Not only does she lack spelling skills, she obviously cannot read. The constitution is very clear, and not terribly difficult to understand, even for a RAT. She should read it sometime. Once again, she has broadcast her ignorance to the world. (I think she REALLY believes she is intelligent!) Amazing.

Yeah, she changed the spelling of her name from Barbara to Barbra. It wasn't until she set up her web site that we all realized she changed it because she didn't know how to spell it.

She also believes Dick Gebhard is doing a good job, too.

She's the best example of the rule that stupid people should not call others stupid.

She'll just blame it on a staffer again.

It takes a big person to blame her employees!

Looks as if Babs is reading from Chris Matthews' talking points. This nonsense about getting 30% of the vote and Davis getting a greater percentage of the vote. Wow. How wacky. Morons.

She spells Davis's name with the British spelling for the shade, "gray."

I'll bet she affects that little bar in the stem of her number '7's, too.

Barbra should just go to live in Europe. She thinks they're so much smarter than us Americans. She'd be much happier there.

In this unfair process, a candidate receiving just 30% of the vote could beat Davis, even if the governor receives 49%.

Blending the two votes and essentially saying that "it's unfair that 30% beats 49%" is either stupid or a blantant form of trying to create confusion through deception.

If a majority of the people mark "Yes" under the question "Shall Gray Davis be recalled from the office of governor?" then Gray Davis is removed. That's part of the Democratic process, which liberals love to quote but hate when the people use it against them.

By the time the second vote comes, Gray Davis will have already been beaten. It could be argued that every vote to fill the vacant office is a vote over Gray Davis. It wouldn't matter that only 30% votes for a certain candidate -- Gray Davis is no longer in the equation, because he couldn't win a majority to keep his job (this is the liberals' famous "will of the people.")

It helps if you know the process, Babbler.

Yeah, and she also said that Saddam Hussein was from Iran at one point. I wish I'd saved the screen image.
