Now let a German say something about that.

Why do you think, we don't know our history?
I know what hapenned 60 years ago and I'm not proud of it.
Do you know, what has happended that time?

A leader of a big country is standing in front of his people and sais "To live in peace, we need war. Ev'ryone who doesn't join us is our enemy."
Who do you think said that? A little hint : it's been just a few years ago.

By the way... Hitler is dead - since 1945. (I know some American who really asked me how he's going - erm.. who said something about history?) What would an American call a German who sais "I love Germany!" ? Nazi - (which is an abreviation of national socialist) - So what should a German say about an American who sais he loves America? Hero??
- Sorry, I don't think so.

wizardos said that European are "naive, unsophisticated, reactionary, parochial, and easily manipulated"
Well do you know where Europe is?
There are American who think that Germany is somwhere beneath China. Hey, do you know that China is in Asia?

In Germany we say that American people are "naive, ignorant and easily manipulated - especcially by their tv" do you think that's true? I know some - but i also have met American wich aren't.

Next one, Onlivetogive : Sure, that we are "easily riled up and manipulated; that some articulate leader could easily whip the masses into a frenzy and lead them down a destructive path" ???
This time, we are the ones who said "Make love - not war".
By the way. I don't like Saddam but do you think, I'd love someone who tells me I've got to agree with his political aim's or I am his declared enemy?

Did I mention that worldwar II is over for almost 60 years? Why does everyone compare modern Germany to those people?

Don't you think, we all should have learned not to prejudice people by their religion or origin?

I know several hundrets of German people and only a few of them are unable to think for theirselves. But maybe I only know representatives of the 30 percent of intelligent German? - Do you believe that's possible?? I don't...

Next time you try to generalize the people of a country, please take the time to meet them. Promise, I'll do it, too.

Last thing concerning to your posts :

There is some text under my Post - buttons which sais
"Please: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts."

Are German people persons? - I'd say YES!
Is racism limited to skin colors or religions - I'd say NO!

please think about this before offencing people...

(Sorry if I made some mistakes - my English isn't the best; what about your German?)

Thank you for sharing.

The German troops working with ours in Afghanistan are doing an awesome job. I thank you for your country's support there.

The easily manipulated are the ones opposed to the war in Iraq. Our mainstream newsmedia and cultural elites as well as our professors are - by a vast majority - against the war and want America weakened on the world stage. They support the UN and the EU and international global socialism.

Why we don't.

Our little naive country has the longest lasting Constitution in world history.

Though our educators, lawmakers and information providers choose to ignore it, our Founding Fathers didn't just base our Constitution, our new nation on man's law.

Our troops are volunteering to risk their own lives in Iraq. They do it because they were awake on 9-11, and they love their families, their freedom, their neighbors - and, usually men and women courageous to serve - they love God. They fight to free a longsuffering people, and to rid the civilized world of some serious enemies of YOUR freedom, whether you believe this or not.

The press - America's press as well - has been lying to the world about the war from day one. I can prove this to you if you're truly interested. Click on my Freepname and scroll down to the bottom for a refresher course.

We are defending OUR freedom and OUR Constitution from those around the world who would break up the foundations of our nation - the strength and goodness of our communities - by breaking up families, and attacking our faith, and undermining our Constitution which limits the governments intrusion into our private lives (is supposed to, but relies on a moral population). Those who prefer the fantasy of a EU-UN socialist Utopia are fighting for something that has never existed outside the Garden of Eden - a stable, free population with MAN creating the rules, assuming self-restraint and morality can be enforced externally - and willingly, ignoring all history and human nature.

Back to Iraq, our troops and the Iraqi people are attempting a very difficult thing after decades of brutality. They are inviting those who would mass-murder innocents into the country where they are taking a stand for all of us, so that no nation or people is forced to appease a mighty and inhumane tyrant, or suffer the death of untold numbers of loved ones due to a WMD in unstable and cruel hands.

They are doing noble work by any decent humane standard. They deserve not only our support, but our gratitude. We can not repay our heroes for the sacrifices they are making for the world's freedom today.

By the way, my great grandfather was a Bavarian citizen until the 1850s when he moved to Pennsylvania, settled with other German-Americans and as a community they made America a better place - giving us not only pretzels and good beer and music, but the Conestoga wagon and the "Kentucky" long rifle.
