The attack "is not good for Syria, not good for the United States and not good for the peace process, if there is one," says Murhaf Jouejati, referring to a U.S.-sponsored "road map to peace" that aimed to rebuild confidence between Israelis and Palestinians and establish a Palestinian state by 2005.

The Bush administration also says Syria is building chemical and biological weapons and is continuing to allow Palestinian militant groups to organize, raise funds and plot attacks from Syrian bases.
The administration in the past has opposed the Syria Accountability Act, legislation that could impose economic and other sanctions against Syria. But the White House has taken a more neutral stance on the bill this year, and it may well become law.

Middle East experts say the bombing, the first in the heart of Syria since the Middle East war in 1973, demonstrated how few military options Israel has to respond to suicide attacks.I suspect Israel has quite a few more military options than these experts want to acknowlege. Just depends on whether they choose to utilize them.....

Israel just flew in and bombed a site used by terrorists located just a few mile from Damascus and then flew home. Piece of cake. "Attack on Syria poses low risk for Israel" . . . is a very accurate statement.

Over Fifty Years of trying for peace with the Rabid Dogs Israel has as neighbors is proof enough that the Arabs will never settle for anything less than using Israel as a grave yard to urinate in.
Peace will come when Israel kills there enemies and punishes their murderous ways until the Arabs fear Justice.
Then and only then will the survivors make peace.

The IDF has lots of options.
1 kiloton neutron bombs or 300 kiloton hydrogen bombs.

Sharon's government announced last week that it would expand some Jewish settlements in Palestinian territory, a clear violation of the road map, which calls for all such construction to stop.
Doesn't anyone have a problem with this?
Israel has been doing this forever. It's a "facts on the ground" strategy that takes over "Palestinian" territories through settlement...so much for accepting a 2-state solution in principle! Israel and the Palestinians deserve each other. One of them is interested in killing all jews, the other wants the maximum amount of land, and unfortunately was successful at embroiling the US into it.
