Wait a minute. I thought if you voted "No" on the recall, you couldn't vote for a replacement.Is this correct?

Common sense would call for that but we're not even in the same zip code in this case. You can vote no on recall and yes for whoever you want.

I know this sounds odd. But yes, anyone can vote for a replacement candidate on Part 2 of the ballot regardless of whether they vote yes or no on Part 1, the recall question. This same recall procedure has been followed on local elections in the past, just never in a statewide election.
