California dreamin': Ahnold cannot fix Golden State's mess

CALIFORNIA holds an election tomorrow to decide whether to recall Gov. Gray Davis. On Wednesday we will be a little glad and a little sad that it's all over. The entry into the race of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gary Coleman and others who have given little thought to serious policy issues and have no business being governor of a state, especially a state that is larger than many nations, has made the race a spectacle worthy of promotion by P.T. Barnum.

But when you get right down to it, the question is a terribly serious one: Who will govern the state of California?

Serious questions require serious answers, and throughout this race the only consistently serious candidate has been state Sen. Tom McClintock. Here is a man who knows about which he speaks, and whose proposed solutions to California's self-imposed crises would actually work.

Californians have spurned serious politicians for years in favor of clowns who promise everything but are capable of delivering nothing. Well, not quite nothing. What they have delivered is fiscal ruin.

We will see tomorrow whether Californians have learned their lesson or whether they continue to fall for the empty promises of charlatans.

The people of California deserve whatever Governor they elect.

It looks like they are about to elect a pro-gun-control, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual adoption, pro-enviro-nazi, never-held-office-in-his-life, MOVIE STAR. They think that electing Schwarzenriordan will constitute a "win".

My respect for a whole lot of freepers has gone swirling right down the toilet. Since these alleged freepers stand for everything I, as a conservative, oppose, I find these cowardly surrender monkeys repugnant beyond words.

They will indeed get exactly what they deserve.

maybe McClintock can win in NH, but in Cali, not a snowball chance in hell.

Yeah, California will only elect a liberal, according to the surrender monkeys - - so if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Vote ARNOLD.

People like you who fault California Indian Casinos verge upon Racism. Before Casinos Indians lived in abject poverty. Why do you fault them for spending their newfound wealth just as they see fit? If you became rich, I suspect you'd insist on others leaving you alone.

I don't fault the casinos, I fault Tom Tom for accepting money from the same place that Gray Davis gets his.

Before Casinos Indians lived in abject poverty. Why do you fault them for spending their newfound wealth just as they see fit?

Because they spend their "newfound wealth" to the detriment of conservative principles.

If you became rich, I suspect you'd insist on others leaving you alone.

If I were rich, I'd spring for free logic classes for posters such as yourself.
