Actor's misdeeds failing to sway advantage to Davis

Poll indicates blackball for governor, green light for actor

By Daniel Borenstein

Absent a last-minute surge, voters Tuesday will oust Davis, making him only the second governor in the nation's history to ignominiously exit midterm at the hands of a recall.

"It looks like the recall passes," Elway said. "That number has been pretty solid for a long time across a number of different polls. It looks like Schwarzenegger wins. And it looks like the bigger the turnout, the bigger he wins."

The reports about Schwarzenegger's behavior surfaced Thursday morning, after the first night of the survey. The poll found a momentary surge Friday in recall opposition. But results from Saturday showed the numbers returning to the level of the first two days of polling.

Plus there was a perjury where the liar tried to deny something that was quite a bit worse than a slap on a butt and of course was very recent. Arnold didn't lie and apologized right away --- not very Clinton-like at all.

This is the Bob Dole strategy. The Dimocrats are depending on the scandal of Arnold's past behavior to win the election for them, and it doesn't work that way. You also have to give the people a good reason to vote for you. Fortunately, the Dimocrats are too stupid to figure it out!

Never in my worst nightmares did I ever imagine that doublespeak would become the norm, and that it would seriously be discussed in news analyses, and talked about as anything other than a joke.

And people wonder why I wish to go live in another country.

I'm for McClintock but I am glad Davis's dirty tricks campaign against Schwarzenegger is backfiring. This is sickening but so TYPICAL of Gray Davis!

It's time to admit that I groped a woman in 1975. She groped me back to get even, I guess. All in all, I considered it a successful date at the time.
