The Weekly can be surprisingly honest at times.

When Riordan was running for Mayor, they ran a lengthly profile on him that made ne want to support him for the office.

They then endorsed his opponent.

He won in a landslide.

The Weekly is badly divided on Gray Davis; it showed in their rather restrained endorsement for them last year, and it showed even more in the recall. Some factions within the Weekly want to have Davis assassinated. Others think he's just "progressive" enough for them.

The result this time was a "No on recall, yes on Arianna" endorsement which must have caused some head-scratching among their readership.
