Arnold vs. the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy
Los Angeles Times ^

To all of you who e-mailed or called to say you're canceling The Times because of my transparent shilling and relentless bias against Arnold and for Gray Davis, there's only one thing I can say.
Guilty.
That's right, you got me.
I roughed up the Gropinator because I'm on the Davis payroll. I work for the Left Angeles Times. I never met a Democrat I didn't like.
Do me a favor, though. Call Gray and tell him. I've been trying to get in to see the governor and I'm striking out.
Why?
I can't figure it out. Either Davis hasn't heard I'm supposedly on his side, or he saw one of the columns in which I laid him out for his spineless pandering.
"You haven't been nice to him," his flack told me.
So how can I be in the tank both for and against Davis?
Let me tell you what's going on here.
Take lead paint, trash politics, five decades of idiot television, and the rise of talk show chimps as modern-day philosopher kings and what happens? Clear-headed thinking doesn't have a chance, which is why it has gone the way of the dodo.

Spare us the BS that you're objective, Lopez. He is a left wing sychophant and a shill for the Bustamante campaign. Yes, he's been tough on Davis, because he is Bustamante shill.

Wah wah wah.
I always love liberal columnists who say "I'm fair-minded, I've criticized liberal figures too". Of course they usually are criticizing the liberal figures for not being liberal enough, and it's token criticism.
I mean, that obsessed paranoid idiot Molly Ivins has criticized Democratic politicians before, does that mean she's unbiased?
Timing is everything. The LA Times refused to give anything beyond perfunctory coverage to credible rape allegations against Bill Clinton yet blasts groping charges on its front page--and one of their columnists has the cajones to deny bias and play victim. Amazing.

Lopez is barking mad these days; apoplectic and foaming at the mouth. I seriously hope he seeks professional help for his own good, maybe take a break for awhile; or a career change perhaps?

Didn't Steve Lopez used to write for the Philadelphia Inquirer? Or is this a different Steve Lopez?

Lopez's boy (Busty-Monty, not Gray) is going to go down hard on Tuesday. His campaign has been pathetic and virtually all the high profile CA RATS have come out for Davis. I guess Lopez is about to lose it.

Attention Lunatic Steve:
You can be unfair to Arnold -- be particularly egregious in your bias against him -- EVEN THOUGH you actually write occasionally negative stuff about others to his left, like Davis or Bustamante. THIS IS ACTUALLY POSSIBLE. Stop writing as though it's an all-or-nothing proposition.
This "Oh, How Could We Be Biased? We Ran A Negative Article On Davis, Too" attitude is endemic at the Times:
They think they're "evenhanded" because, in the same issue in which they're yellow-pissing filth all over Arnold, they run a piece on how Davis is fighting his image as being aloof. (As if that were news.)

How appropriate! An elite newspaper columnist bragging about how much smarter he is than the people who read his paper.
Just the thing to elicit more readership and respect within the community...
Were I Lopez' editor, I'd fire him for "aggravated arrogance".

This is a ruse. Arnold is part of the left-wing conspiracy, not the target of it.

Good ruse, then, if that means that Sowell, Hewitt, Rohrabacher, Cox, Drier, Friedman, etc, and that never-ending list of Republican and conservative endorsements... they're all just idiots who fell for the "ruse"?
Gotcha.

Yes, I've heard... RINO's.... gotcha LOL
Funny thing about those folks flinging the word RINO night and day... I've been finding that many of them aren't Republicans at all ;-)

Steve, you're the one who said that Gray was working harder for contributions than anybody in hotpants and high heels. If you're still on Gray's bleeplist because of that, that's your problem, not ours.

Geeze, Lopez is so full of himself. If he imagines that people cancelled their subscriptions because of his tripe, he's imagining things. His little column had nothing to do with people who cancelled because of what the LA Slimes chooses to run on its front page.
