A group founded to defend President Bill Clinton against impeachment proceedings stemming from the Paula Jones sexual harassment case has produced a commercial calling Arnold Schwarzenegger unfit to be governor of California.
The group MoveOn.org was founded in 1998 in a bid to persuade Congress to censure Clinton rather than impeach him - even after the president was hit by allegations he attacked a White House volunteer inside the Oval Office and raped an Arkansas businesswoman in the 1970s.
But in an ad released this weekend, MoveOn.org warned, "If your mother is a woman, or your wife, or your daughter, or your sister . . . you cannot vote for this man. Because Arnold Schwarzenegger has a serious problem with women."
Then, citing a quote from Schwarzenegger where he joked about a recent movie role where he dunked a female robot into a toilet, MoveOn's narrator urged, "Every woman and every man should vote no on the recall."
Campaigning against the recall on Saturday, Gov. Gray Davis said that Schwarzenegger's groping likely constituted criminal acts that could warrant prosecution.
"I believe those stories do raise serious questions about his ability to lead this state," Davis told a women's group in Oakland. He said that it's up to the authorities to decide whether to investigate or prosecute the sexual misconduct allegations, according to the Oakland Tribune.
Meanwhile, the Davis campaign was bombarding the homes of likely California voters with telephone messages from the impeached president urging them to vote against Schwarzenegger.
It's not clear whether Clinton himself makes mention of the groping charges against the former actor in the message.

I'd hate for some little teeny-bopper to pick up with Bubba actually on the other end of the line.

Only in Cali would they say "if you mother is a woman." My thoughts exactly

One problem: Arnold was joking about a scene in a movie, where he was playing a robot beating the crap out of another robot that just happened to be disguised as a female human. The women Bubba accosted were just as real as the ones Arnold supposedly accosted, and they accused him, in some cases, of much more violent and demeaning things than giving them swirlies in the toilet. And they didn't hide behind anonymity to do it.

So Arnie was a playful cad on the set? How many of those wannabe 'Arnie playmates' or starlets didn't instigate any of his pats? I doubt all of them were unwilling and he took it for granted his playfulness was just that and undoubtedly a woman or two was offended [or maybe not]. Even though it was uncouth, Billie Boy broke all boundaries by hanging on, ripping clothing, and defiling the Oval Office, not to mention a couple of women who accused him [credibly] of rape. A simple, "Back off!" would suffice with Arnie but Slick wouldn't take no for an answer. The difference between Arnie and Slick Willie, is that the Clintons were a monarchy and Arnold is a man of many vices. Clinton's vices don't count.
