Furore Over Study That Suggests 'Cure' For Homosexuality

I agree that there are some types of homosexuals who have been classically conditioned to become gay. Case in point: the boys who are seduced or molested at a vulnerable age. Sexual responses are the easiest in the world to condition, and if you take a thirteen-year-old boy who gets aroused if the wind blows and connect sexual release with the touch of a man, it doesn't take long to train a previously normal boy to be gay.

But John, it seems that you haven't met people whose hormones really were messed up in utero. There are women who have broad shoulders, narrow hips, prominent Adam's apples, huge muscles a normal woman couldn't develop after years of weightlifting, and a masculine jaw and brow.

As far as that boy you think just didn't have a good relationship with his daddy: you haven't seen this poor guy. Believe me, his relationship with his daddy didn't give him a woman's vocal cords, pelvis, neck, shoulders, arms, and skull.

People are born with defects all the time. Why is it hard to believe that every once in awhile some poor soul is born with his hormones messed up?

You are right, I've never met any one whose hormones were messed up in utero because there aren't any. Behavior is totally chosen. (With the exception of motor reflex actions). The level of sexual interest may be hormonally driven but the object of that interest is totally chosen. Mentally healthy people choose people of the opposite sex to be interested in.

Back in the 1600's, 1700's etc there were still woman such as you describe. (Some of the pictures I've of these women were pretty ugly) Yet these women with the same characteristics married, had children, loved their husbands and lived happy lives (for the most part). They were not assumed to be sexually deviant just because they were physically imperfect

Again, just because someone has a 'gay' type body that doesn't mean they are sexually deviant. See Ahban's post 59. This boy you describe has probably been ruthlessly teased by all the other boys since he first started school if not earlier. He was made to believe that he is 'gay' because that is what people expected of him because that is what he looked like.

There are no people who are naturally sexually attracted to the same sex. There are only people who have been damaged and had their normal sexual desires twisted by the experience.

For every person you can show me who is practicing sodomy that has a 'non-standard' type body I can show you 30 that have similar bodies but are mentally healthy. Likewise I can show you people with normal bodies who are sodomites. Body type has nothing to do with ones sexual choices.

Okay, John, you win. Have it your way. Neurochemistry and the other aspects of physiology that we can't see aren't important, just 'cause we can't see them. People aren't influenced by the miraculously subtle balances of chemicals in their brains, and they can't be born with anything wrong in their heads. I'm sure you'll enjoy living with this belief, John, because it makes moral decisions so, so, so much easier. P.S. Take care not to get any biomedical education, or you might find your one-dimensional beliefs rocked.

I do remember I study being posted here on the FR a couple months ago that links a hormone defect to lesbianism in curtain women, it also explains why curtain women were butch because of this defect and other women with this defect were slim. Something about the slim women's immune system that prevented them from become butch but the hormone defect still effected their brains.
