Well, it spilled over to Fox Sports show as well. Terry and James both blasted Rush's comments.

They're now piling on Rush on the CBS pregame show

...and on Fox. What a bunch of crybabies. Everyone is so afraid to be labeled a racist they are really going overboard. Calling McNabb a "victim"?????

Yah, well get ready for the next assault (actually earlier: at about 10:45), I tuned in and Mike Lupica was DEFENDING Rush and saying that's why they brought him on the show, and the other turds on that show starting hammering him calling . . . are you ready for this? Rush a "coward" for RESIGNING! They said that when the going got tough, he quit!!

These people are despicable. They are turning many people, who never had a racist bone in their body, into racists on both sides of the equation.

What Rush said was stupid and out of line. Should he have been fired? I don't know.

Rush is beocming a bore lately and I find myself turning him off on his radio show most days too.

I have read that Rush told the cast and crew beforehand that he was going to say those things. Has that been confirmed?

Hell, yes, they rehearsed it and timed it. Everybody -- cast, crew, producers -- knew it was coming. If they were so damned uncomfortable with it, they should have said so then. Rush described the process on his show Monday, I believe it was, before the whole controversy really blew up.

Dog, do you want to put on your tinfoil hat with me? How about this scenario: to minimize the impact of Rush being "fired"/resigning for his statements, the "big media" in the Enquirer released the drug story to generate sympathy for him!

This is just a preview of something to expect from DU!

Something about "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" comes to mind here.

So it's ok to have a convicted drug addict on the show if he is black or at least a liberal. But NOOOOO way will they allow a white conservative who is only accused of being a drug addict. NOOoo way will they allow that!

Rush was stupid to say what he said where he said it, but if that bunch of yahoos were so incensed by it why didn't they say something at the time instead of sitting around with their fingers up their b..ts? I'll answer my own question. They didn't say anything because they didn't have to guts to engage him face to face. They wanted to wait until they were safe and could say anything they wanted without having to justify it. Also they know there is some truth to what he said. Not about McNabb in particular but about the NFL and the media in general.

Rush's show was better in the Clinton Era with the parodies and such. It gave us a voice to turn to. Now, with Republicans in charge (not control), he just becomes more of a "yes-man", and doesn't have as much to offer.

I agree. I never watch the pregame shows, but tuned in JUST to hear Rush---and the numbers showed his impact. Never again. I won't say I won't ever watch ESPN. That, I think, is disingenuous. After all, it is the only 24-hour source for scores and highlights. But I will NEVER watch the ESPN pre-game, and will do my best to watch all the games on the dish, so that I don't have to watch Prime Time any more. Shame on them.

It is quite obvious from that statement that you haven't listened to Rush's show since at least before 1/01.

I totally agree. It was disgusting. All four of them were pandering to the PC crowd. I will watch ESPN for their sporting events but I will never watch the NFL pre-game show anymore. After Rush was so kind to them on his Friday show they come out and throw him to the wolves. Unbelievable. Irvins comments about being brothers on the set again made me want to puke. And I thought Chris Berman had more, well let's just say "intestinal fortitude" than he showed. They totally cut and ran from Rush after not putting up any real objection earlier.

They were obviously gotten to by the "powers that be". I hope Rush is a little more vocal about the people at ESPN now on his Monday show. That was about the worst stabbing in the back I have ever seen.

That's always a bad anaolgy , it was used to discourage those who wanted to stone to death a woman! We've all committed wrongs, does this mean we should not recognize in others when they commit a wrong?

Not sure if ESPN addressed the issue in Detroit over the coaching issue, but Rush jumped all over it on one of his shows. He defended the Lions and asked why Dallas, SF, and Jacksonville were not fined as well.

Bottom line, though, this is still all Rush's stupid fault. He did say, several times, both on his show and on his first ESPCN appearance, that he was there to offer a fan's perspective, and that he would stay out of politics.

So it's OK for the rest of them to comment about the NFL policy to interview black coach's! Do you understand that they review, rehearse, and approve the comments on Saturday before the show?

As a Cowboy fan, this sickened me, and I was already disgusted with Irvin for his mindless defense of Terrell Owens.
