RINOLD's a celebrity, so he's going to go on celebrity-related talk shows and other settings rather than address the hard issues in a more news-like forum. Agreed. Instead of these talk shows, he should have discussed his campaign with the leading California newspaper, that august journalisitic establishment known as the LA Times.

Does this author really want to know WHY Arnold is appearing in some of these unusual spots? Because they reach a larger, more loyal audience than CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX Cable news shows.
Howard Stern's influence (that this author obviously has no knowledge of) SWUNG the election for Christie Todd Whitman, George Pataki, and others. He played an important, albiet out of the inner circle part, in the elections of several RINOs in NY. Folks who listened to him but normally didn't care a whit about politics voted because HE TOLD THEM TO.
A spot on Jay Leno or David Lettermen will reach up to a million more viewers, on average, than any of the "traditional" news services, including FOX Cable. Arnold only has limited time, as do all of the candidates to get their message out. Why should he waste it pandering to the smear machine that is the liberal mainstream media?
Although I am not a Californian, or an Arnold supporter, this author missed the mark completely. Arnold's handlers are doing a bang up freakin job.

ROFLOL. Yeah, he should follow Gray Davis and the dems idea of a 'proper' campaign. Then I guess he'd be at 110% in the polls, rather than over 50.You're using Earth-logic, which does not apply in Kinsolving's world.
"To do that radio show [Stern's] while seeking political office is not only offensive to the voters but to Republicans who emphasize ideas," said GOP consultant K.B. Forbes, who has been an adviser to former GOP candidate Bill Simon, who dropped out of the Oct. 7 recall election. "This is proof that Arnold is not making a transition from celebrity to political candidate. It's making a mockery of the campaign."

Sorry, but it still makes no sense at all to me.
I had no idea what it meant first, and I still don't.
Besides, if this started as a continuation of some disagreement from another thread, it should never have been brought to this thread.

Dear Golden Gate,
have gone back and looked, and the reason why I didn;t understand it was that YOU CHANGED WHAT LARACROFT WROTE AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO HER.
THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. I am a published author, and I would never be allowed to get away with that.
ATTRIBUTIONS SHOULD BE CORRECT, PERIOD.

No, and I still see no retraction of attributing words to me.
I will report you if you do not immediately write a correction of what I wrote, and send it to everyone you sent it to before.
It's in writing, and it's illegal, to say nothing of being stupid.

"I wish there was a list of McClintock supporters to thank"
You should also thank your lucky stars that Schwarzenegger didn't run as a Democrat. He would have still had the financial support of number of monied Republicans because he's a capitalist, he would have masked the stench of his prior political affiliation among a large percentage of Democrat electorate, he would have maintaned his appeal to many Repbulicans because of his celebrity and has adamant anti Davis stance and he would have been absolutely outside the control of the CDP and the DNC giving him as much freedom as he presenlty enjoys to hit the hot button issues that drove the early recall efforts.

Golden Gate is a well known troll on any thread related to Linux. I have learned it is best to just ignore him. I think he has some kind of mental problem. Look at his post history.
