Any conservative with an open mind can readily see that his or her core values are advanced by neither Bush nor the Republicans. If anything the RP has become in the past 10 years a means for the socialists to say "see, see there is a 'right wing' party! It's not all a one ideology system!" The only way that conservatives can remain a viable group is to move away from the RP and form a new party.
