Thought you might be interested. Jim Robinson sent this out the night of 10/3/03.

"Burkeman1's account has been banned by his own request. I have been sending warning notices out to many of the warring parties on these threads and I'm betting that there will be several more suspensions, bannings and resignations before this is all over. You people will quit trashing and bashing our conservative candidates and you will quit insulting, attacking, stalking and harassing each other or a whole lot of you are going to be gone from FR! It's way past time to call for a cease fire on this board, but I am doing it now. CEASE FIRE!!!"

LifeChain is a national event, and it's all over California (started in California) This is a prime place for the McClintock campaign to campaign.

Well we aren't talking about a Republican primary

You're correct. But I was talking about the consequences of GOP loyalists and moderates bashing conservatives for their stance on Schwarzenegger in the recall.

I think the GOP cause would be better served in the long run to realize that the enemy of their enemy is their friend.

In the short term, the recall, when it hits the fan next spring I'd personally rather have a conservative making the tough decisions. His motives will be much less suspect. If a liberal capitalist is forced to do the things that will be necessary, even the GOP cause will not be well served.

Just found out:

Steve Wampler, the person writing this forwarded message, will be a guest speaker at an event on Saturday at the Hilton in Santa Clara (Great America Parkway). (10-04-03 at 11:00)

The West Valley Republican Women have invited him to speak. Also, the Eagle Forum's CA representative, Orlean Koehle will address the group.

Its bad form to quote somebody without pinging them to the quote. Also, do you have a link to JimR's words somewhere? Was this sent in the form of a Freepmail or was it a post on thread somewhere?

I didn't want to ping him because he is a busy guy. You can ping him if you want if you think I'm not being truthful.

Here's the thread. He also posted a similar sentiment on a thread that was pulled in it's entirety.

I believe it's post 77.

I made no insinuation that you were being untruthful. I just wanted to see the post. 77 is the correct one - thanks for clarifying it.

You know I realized that and I am sorry for making the assumption. Just a little trigger happy these days. My apologies.

Probably time to shut this thread down. McClintock is declining rapidly in the polls. He has probably terminated his lack-luster political career by refusing to withdraw.

In a few more weeks it will be "Tom who?"

Yes, I saw Jim's similar comment on the other pulled thread this morning. Thanks for the repost.

I wonder if Chuck Quackenbush will be offered a position in Arnie's administration? What do you think? ;-)
