Inspired by a weight trainer who witnessed Nazi slayings of Jews during World War II, Arnold Schwarzenegger used his menacing muscular physique to help break up neo-Nazi rallies as a teenager, his ex-trainer said Saturday.

In an interview with The Associated Press, gym owner Kurt Marnul said the young Schwarzenegger participated at least twice in organized disruptions of Nazi gatherings near his hometown of Graz during the 1960s.

Think there's any chance that the media will broadcast this information? Perhaps they are waiting until they drop their last-minute expose on Bustamante's racist past (or at least do a short piece on the meaning of those red flags of revolution you see waving around in Bustmante's more recent political ads -- you know, the ones that feature primarily latinos in the chanting audience). Mmmmm ....

Any chance?

The Democrats really want this election badly, don't they?

They dehumanize repubs in every election, in every location. No republican is exempt from the BS they spew.

This is a link directly to the advertising department! (skip the editorial staff).

Let them know the internet is catching fire and threatening to "burn" their advertisers (metaphorically speaking)

because he has, by all accounts, been an upstanding citizen since he came here.

In other words, because he doesn't vote Republican.

if he was on tv I could always tell

Me too. His lips were moving, and sound was coming out.

Mark, you might want to post that in an original posting, or in my "FReep the LA Times" posting. It's a good idea.

Clinton could really sling it. I couldn't tell if he was lying or not as long as I was hearing him on the radio, but if he was on tv I could always tell.

I've got you beat there! If I could hear him I knew he was lying! If I saw him with the sound muted, and his lips were movin', he was lying.

They need to correct their story. R-nulled is a fascist, not a nazi!

1964: Young fascist Arnold Schwarzenegger protests Neo-Nazi's, calling them "right wing crazies".
2003: Fourty years later, "moderate" fascist Arnold Schwarzenegger runs against the incumbent "progressive" fascist Gray Davis.

I'm surprised that the Ministry of Propaganda allowed this to be made public. The Democrat Propaganda Machine is going full blast!

This why they can say they are fair and balanced by reporting both sides

Just one problem .. I'll lay odds that this story gets printed at the bottom of page 13

You have been a McClintock supporter. I recall the McCain events of 2000. McCain, I think, earned some considerable points with how hard he campaigned for Bush. Note how talk of him switching parties has faded to nothingness. He did the good soldier thing.

You are certainly not obligated to endorse Arnold while McClintock is still in the race -- but my point here is much broader and frankly, I don't have an answer.

We are defining conservatism today by litmus tests du jour -- abortion, gun control, Iraq. How would we label a person's philosophy from say, 75 years ago were he to arrive on the scene today and know nothing whatsoever of these issues. Is there not a broader definition of leanings that goes beyond the current litmus tests? And if so, can not an individual come down on the wrong side of an occasional litmus test and still be conservative?

You raise a great point. Many people have such shallow reasoning powers they can't grasp the idea of being able to acknowledge gifts in corrupt people like Clinton and Hitler. Clinton is not only a gifted speaker/BS artist he is also extremely smart and a hard worker. That's on the plus side. On the negative side, well .. he's a rapist, felonist and treasonist.

What Arnold was saying about Hitler was more about how cool it would be to be able to have so much charisma that one could propagandize so many people. That's all. The left have dangerously weakened the public's analytical powers.

Huh. I guess that info was never "discovered" by ABC Snooze or the L.A. Slimes.

I heard of an interview with some rabbi out in California who said Arnold came to him in his early 20's asking to learn about Judaism, since in Austria they didn't really know much about Jews (and being of German ancestry, I can vouch for this. All my relatives living there loathe Jews, and they are very nice, normal people otherwise).

I've also heard he didn't like his father very much.
