After maintaining a low profile while his chief inspector fielded questions, President Bush came out swinging Friday, saying David Kay's (search) interim report demonstrates that the war against Iraq was just and necessary.

"The report states that Saddam Hussein's regime had a clandestine network of biological laboratories, a live strain of deadly agent botulinum (search), sophisticated concealment efforts and advanced design work on prohibited longer-range missiles," Bush said while standing in front of Marine One before leaving for Milwaukee to attend a fund-raiser and deliver a speech expected to tout new job numbers.

Yes they did.... I just saw a clip of them speaking today on Fox... they said....."no imminent threat "

Based on what these two giants in the Senate did during the 90's...neither was Al Queda.

"We've shared in the classified report about two dozen major cases of where Iraq hid equipment or engaged in prohibited activities that were not permitted under the U.N. resolution," Kay said. "I think you can find a lot more to this story than 'we can not find weapons of mass destruction.' That would not be my lede."

"In addition to intent, we have found a large body of continuing activities and equipment that were not declared to the U.N. inspectors when they returned in November of last year," Kay said.

Kay said Iraq's nuclear weapons program appears to have been the least developed program uncovered so far, but the country did have bombs that could fly as far as 1,000 kilometers, much further than the 93-kilometer limit the U.N. had imposed on the country.

UH!!!!

We know what the significance is, but the liberals will put their fingers in their ears and yell out like Tom Cruise, "SHOW ME THE WMD!"

And if we finally find a significant cache of them, an equally significant percentage of the left will claim we planted them out of desperation.

Speaking of foolish and irresponsible, did Byrd and Kennedy ever hold that press conference today? (stuck in office with no tv/radio here

Yes, I think they did. I saw something about Kennedy wanting to authorize the money in segments dependent on the President getting help from the U.N., coming back to Congress with a report ...etc. etc.

I didn't see anything about what Byrd said but it is near certainty that he will wannt some (if not all) of the $20B to be spent in West Virginia.

Pelosi said Kay's report shows that no imminent threat was posed by Saddam Hussein toward the United States

I swear, if I hear the word "imminent" uttered by one more Democrat, I AM GOING TO BLOW A GASKET!!! 9/11 wasn't imminent UNTIL IT HAPPENED, YOU !@#$%^ IDIOTS!

Of course, they know all that. Just politics, don't ya know...

Just checked......Kay was a former UN weapons inspector. That says it all. His double talk yesterday was maddening.

The liberals perfectly illustrate playing both sides of an issue. While simultaneously demonizing the Bush administration for not preventing the IMMINENT 9/11 attack, they criticize him for trying to prevent another attack that is not yet IMMINENT. You can't have it both ways. In fact, you can't have it either way. They manage to contradict themselves while being wrong both times.

What I'd really like to know is:
...what happened to that lone Iraqi fellow who tried to get sanctuary in a UN inspectors
vehicle, holding a stack of papers...
but those whiz-kid inspectors turned him over to the Iraqi authorities for having
the bad manners to keep the UN weasels from their next wine and cheese party...

Speaking of fox news did anyone see the protesting on the morning show today. They let them at one point stay right behind Steve and Edy on one segment and Steve was not happy. Why would the producer or security let this happen? I think fox looked bad. Agree or disagree freepers?

His report, after only 3 months, is damning and detailed. It explains the Rush, Arnold lynching and the Wilson leak lying, and the Kennedy/Kofi/Pelosi/press show - THEY are convicted. This was absolutely a just war and the only way the critics win and the free world loses is if the people don't find and read the truth and hold the liars accountable.

8 STATEMENT BY DAVID KAY ON THE INTERIM PROGRESS REPORT [IRAQ WMD]

The voice from the telescreen paused. A trumpet call, clear and beautiful, floated into the stagnant air. The voice continued raspingly:

'Attention! Your attention, please! A newsflash has this moment arrived from the Malabar front. Our forces in South India have won a glorious victory. I am authorized to say that the action we are now reporting may well bring the war within measurable distance of its end. Here is the newsflash -'

Bad news coming, thought Winston. And sure enough, following on a gory description of the annihilation of a Eurasian army, with stupendous figures of killed and prisoners, came the announcement that, as from next week, the chocolate ration would be reduced from thirty grammes to twenty.

...

The phrase 'our new, happy life' recurred several times. It had been a favourite of late with the Ministry of Plenty. Parsons, his attention caught by the trumpet call, sat listening with a sort of gaping solemnity, a sort of edified boredom. He could not follow the figures, but he was aware that they were in some way a cause for satisfaction. He had lugged out a huge and filthy pipe which was already half full of charred tobacco. With the tobacco ration at 100 grammes a week it was seldom possible to fill a pipe to the top. Winston was smoking a Victory Cigarette which he held carefully horizontal. The new ration did not start till tomorrow and he had only four cigarettes left. For the moment he had shut his ears to the remoter noises and was listening to the stuff that streamed out of the telescreen. It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grammes a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grammes a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it. Parsons swallowed it easily, with the stupidity of an animal. The eyeless creature at the other table swallowed it fanatically, passionately, with a furious desire to track down, denounce, and vaporize anyone who should suggest that last week the ration had been thirty grammes. Syme, too-in some more complex way, involving doublethink, Syme swallowed it. Was he, then, alone in the possession of a memory?

And the convoluted language from Kay has me furious. But then I googled him and voila! He's a former UN inspector.......doesn't that say it all. He deliberately made the language ambiguous rather than give the president a clear cut victory.....which it IS!

I don't read it as convoluted, more simply the words of a scientist. Most scientists aren't very good at communicating with the 'masses'. My father used to do advertising for 'scientific' corporations. They needed an interpreter to make their work understandable.

Don't blame Dr. Kay. His report convicts Saddam.

Kennedy, Kofi, Pelosi and their press accomplices are lying about this report to the world, covering up the truth about a monster's threat to us all. How can anyone trust them to act on behalf of free people anywhere? THEY are the scandal.

Why has the media ignored this -- Kattracks, thanks for pointing it out.

I just bumped it to front page news --- though it's a few months old, I didn't want to do a repost, and its timely, to point out, as the David Limbaugh article points out, that the media takes a small part of what Kay says out of context.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1070473/posts

But every Republican on every talk show, and every interview, should be pointing this out.
