I'm assuming you meant to type "druggist." A druggist is a pharmacist, or one who sells drugs. I am not a pharmacist, nor do I sell drugs.
Nevermind all the pain these things cause in the longterm, a short term fix is always better than the big picture to a drugist.
People in pain will do what they need to do to relieve pain. There is nothing bad or shameful about it.
