Where do your Saxon friends come from?? Do you think they are Irish, Scottish are Welch??? You clearly are enraptured with the barbaric Germanic backgrounds and dislike the Normans... I do not care, I am only responding to the poem again you are stuck in a certain state of mind that is limiting your ability to expand your perspective... move out of the 12th century when I am speaking about today.
