Arnold's New Battle

Schwarzenegger Apologizes for the Way He Treated Women in Past

By Linda Douglass

San Diego, Calif., Oct. 2— California gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger kicked off his bus tour of California today amid allegations of sexual harassment and anti-Semitism.

In a front-page story, the Los Angeles Times, California's largest newspaper, quoted six women who claim Schwarzenegger groped or made sexually offensive remarks to them. One woman told ABCNEWS she encountered Schwarzenegger in the 1970s when he was a bodybuilder.

"The gym was quite full and Arnold was there and I remember him passing by me and groping my breast," Elaine Stockon told ABCNEWS. "And I was just in sheer shock."

Of the six women who spoke to the newspaper, four would not give their names. One claimed that 20 years ago, Schwarzenegger "grabbed and squeezed" her left breast. She told the Los Angeles Times she "just started crying and crying." She said he did not rape her, but he humiliated her.

The Los Angeles Times also quoted a woman, who asked not to be named, who worked on the movie Terminator 2 and claimed Schwarzenegger "would pin me against the corner of the elevator" and try to pull off the straps of her bathing suit.

The story broke just as Schwarzenegger was kicking off his bus tour of California — an event that was supposed to be the crescendo of his campaign.

He confronted the allegations directly today. At first he appeared to deny them: "A lot of those what you see the story, is not true." But he then added, "I have done things that at the time I thought then was playful but now I recognize that I have offended people. And those people that I have offended, I want to say to them I am deeply sorry about that and I apologize."

‘I Admired Hitler’

Yet even as he tried to put out that fire, another broke out.

ABCNEWS obtained a copy of an unpublished book proposal with quotes from a verbatim transcript of an interview Schwarzenegger gave in 1975 while making the film Pumping Iron.

Asked who his heroes are, he answered, "I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it."

He is quoted as saying he wished he could have an experience, "like Hitler in the Nuremberg stadium. And have all those people scream at you and just being total agreement whatever you say."

The author of the book proposal, Pumping Iron's director, George Butler, told ABCNEWS today that the quotes needed to be seen in context, and that Arnold never said anything anti-Semitic.

"I cannot remember any of these," Schwarzenegger told ABCNEWS. "All I can tell you is that I despise everything Hitler stood for. I despise everything the Nazis stood for, everything the Third Reich stood for."

In the final days of his campaign, Schwarzenegger may be battling yet another opponent: his own past.

Ah, so.

I imagine next they'll say that Arnold is the forger of "The Hitler Diaries."

I'll need to see a lot more than this from ABC.

I imagine the Hollywood crowd doesn't want to touch this with a 10-foot pole. Damned if you don't say anything, damned if you do.

I wonder if Arnold is going to respond? I wouldn't unless really pressed and I don't think that will happen.

The media Mcclintock camp is desperate. Have they found his second grade homework assignments yet?

While you bend over backwards to defend a man whose character is highly under suspicion, you continue to attack a man of the highest integrity.

When is it?

LOL, maybe Arianna's found her niche. A talk show in her future perhaps? The new anti-Oprah?

I kind of have to admire Arianna - she is definitely a wild card. Don't find that too often in a person. The Anti-Oprah - I like that!!

Arnold and Hitler? That's a leap. Try Tom and R.J. Rushdoony.

Davis/Bustamante may drop the dirt bomb on McClintock, too. If so, charges of racism and fanatical right wing religous practices could be exploding on McClintock's campaign.

John Stoos, Christian Reconstructionism, Religious Intolerance, Abortion Clinic violence, Social Engineering, Classification by Religion all will be tied to McClintock. This is just the stuff that is available on the web, I'm sure Dem operatives have added a few little twists. Remember this will be aimed at moderates, so please spare me the "What's wrong with that?" response.

McClintock claims ignorance of the writings and views of Stoos. Hogwash, the CRA warned him about Stoos. McClintock hired him anyway, as chief legislative analyst. McClintock is lying because he shares the same views as Stoos. That's how it works with the right wing crazies, they deny their true beliefs for political expediency.

BIBLE STUMPING ADVISER
A top aide to conservative state Sen. Tom McClintock, R-Northridge, yearns for the day when a Christian city council majority outlaws abortions, hires an anti-abortion city attorney to defend their action and an anti-abortion police chief to enforce it. John Stoos, McClintock's deputy campaign manager, said so in the Chalcedon Report, put out by a conservative religious group in rural California. The group dreams of a society governed by Biblical law. McClintock says he's disturbed to hear about his deputy's writings, disagrees with the idea and rejects the Chalcedon philosophy. Stoos said he hadn't discussed his religious views with the senator. "He didn't hire me as his pastor. He hired me as his political adviser," the aide says.

R.J.Rushdoony is the guru of the Chalcedon philosophy that Stoos/McClintock would use to create the perfect society. See a few of Rushdoony's teachings below. Follow the link for more.

http://www.politicalamazon.com/cr-quotes.html
All men are NOT created equal before God; the facts of heaven and hell, election and reprobation make clear that they are not equal. Moreover, an employer has aproperty rights to prefer whom he will in terms of "color" creed, race or national origin.
R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 509/510

.The decline of European royal and noble families, as well as a weakening of strength in America's Jewish aristocracy, is a development which has run parallel with extensive inbreeding.
R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 369

Not surprisingly, in Los Angeles on May 27, 1979, a larger number of voters voted for Thomas Bradley, a colored candidate, because it was the "in thing to do."
R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 330

The matriarchal society is thus decadent or broken society. The strongly matriarchal character of Negro life is due to the moral failure of Negro men, their failure to be responsible, to support the family, or to provide authority. The same is true of American Indian tribes which are also matriarchal today."
R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 203

Segregation or separation is thus a basic principle of Biblical law with respect to religion and morality. Every attempt to destroy this principle is an effort to reduce society to its lowest common denominator. Toleration is the excuse under which this levelling is undertaken, but the concept of toleration conceals a radical intolerance. In the name of toleration, the believer is asked to associate on a common level of total acceptance with the atheist, the pervert, the criminal, and the adherents of other religions as though no differences existed.

R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 294.

The (Biblical) Law here is humane and also unsentimental. It recognizes that some people are by nature slaves and will always be so. It both requires that they be dealt with in a godly manner and also that the slave recognizes his position and accepts it with grace."
R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 251

Onward Christian Soldiers

I see that Tom McClintock's senior advisor has been outed as a writer for Chalcedon.

The LA Times story is quite vivid in describing John Stoos' belief system, particularly:
"I dream of the day when a strong Christian majority is elected to a city council somewhere in America. This council could then pass a resolution declaring that abortion is now illegal in their city."

---

"If these sinners who desperately need the great gift of salvation in Jesus Christ can do so much in the power of the flesh to defend practices that the general public finds repulsive, then what should we as Christians be doing to advance the kingdom of Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit?

"The critical question is whether we as Christians are prepared to show the same resolve and discipline and do the kind of hard work that the homosexuals have done over the past fifteen years promoting their ungodly agenda. Lord willing, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we can!"

---

"Christians are the only people who can restore the proper biblical understanding of government to our modern system."

What's missing about this piece, however, is the larger context: Chalcedon is the leading publishing arm and fundraising foundation of the Christian Reconstructionist movement. Indeed, everything that Stoos is quoted as having said is perfectly in line with their beliefs.

Many of you may already be familiar with what Christian Reconstructionism is about, but here's the short version: They believe the vote should only belong to Christians, and that the American government and laws should be explicitly governed by their fundamentalist interpretation of Scripture.

Chalcedon's publisher for most of its existence was the late R.J. Rushdoony, one of the leading lights of Christian Reconstructionism.

Here's the longer version:

Christian Reconstructionism: Theocratic Dominionism Gains Influence, by Frederick Clarkson
The original and defining text of Reconstructionism is Institutes of Biblical Law, published in 1973 by Rousas John Rushdoony--an 800-page explanation of the Ten Commandments, the Biblical "case law" that derives from them, and their application today. "The only true order," writes Rushdoony, "is founded on Biblical Law.

All law is religious in nature, and every non-Biblical law-order represents an anti-Christian religion." In brief, he continues, "Every law-order is a state of war against the enemies of that order, and all law is a form of warfare."

Gary North, Rushdoony's son-in-law, wrote an appendix to Institutes on the subject of "Christian economics." It is a polemic which serves as a model for the application of "Biblical Principles."

Of course, also worth remembering:

One of the other leading lights at Chalcedon is none other than Howard Ahamanson ... who also has been appearing in the news recently connected with the brouhaha over computerized voting technology. Seems Ahmanson is one of the chief owners of American Information Systems -- which is co-owned by Diebold's president and vice-president.

Oh what a tangled web we weave. But regardless of how Tom McClintock chooses to spin things now, his political identity should be understood now as unmistakably interwoven with the Christian Reconstructionist agenda -- and his campaign an attempt to mainstream it.

and he will run for president with it next year against president bush... jan and paul crouch cheering him on.. along with james kennedy and the financial backing of Hillary via the gambling mafia and organized labor.

clinton soros hillary carville davis bugaala and their wrecking crew are NOW officially in full swing.

I smell hillaries dirty panties on soros' fat arse even from here...

I am sick of Tom.
He's toast.
The christian equivalent of sharia is all these folks want...
no wonder jan and paul are promoting the islamics on their tv shows of late... and their remarkable similarities between "biblical" faith... the ten commandements, and islamic law and all... I saw it myself...

They will eventually bring about their own persecution, while touting their own "morally superior" choices in life.
We will be far better off with them OUT of the party and on their own path to the promised... with alan keyes and his new party leading the way...

I like Tom, and I don't know about those things you listed.

But it disgusts me that some of his more adamant supporters here on FR -- who are embittered about Arnold's likely win in the recall -- pinging each other delightedly. (Dare I use the German word Schadenfreude?) Do they REALLY believe Arnold has any Nazi sympathies, or ever did? I doubt it. Which makes their jumping on Bob Mulholland's trash truck bandwagon all the more hypocritical. To them, anything is okay if it smears the Hated Arnold.
