A large, boisterous crowd of several thousand greeted Arnold Schwarzenegger during a lunchtime rally at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa today.

First, let me say that Jeff "Skunk" Baxter rocks. The former Doobie Brother played with the warm-up band really whipped the crowd up. His guitar solos, including an especially hot one during Arnold's new campaign song Twisted Sister's
We're not going to take it, were great, as was his version of the National Anthem.

Hugh Hewitt acted as master of ceremonies and further excited the crowd by reciting the failures of the Davis administration and the other Dems in the state. He also attacked the LA Times and Bob Mullholland for their slime piece on Arnold this morning.
Hugh asks if anyone reads the LA Slimes
Hugh then introduced several speakers including Jon Coupal of the Howard Jarvis Tax Association, State Assemblyman John Campbell and Congressman David Dreier.

The Media Jackals were out in force.
Arnold then arrived in his "Running Man" bus to the screams of the crowd. He spoke for about 15 minutes outlining his plans for the future, including the immediate repealing of the illegal car tax and improving the business climate in the state. He did not mention the Times hit piece or apologize as he did this morning in San Diego.
The climax of his speech was the distruction of a car symbolizing the "Davis Car Tax" by the dropping of a wrecking ball from crane. After that, and while being showered by confetti and the shouts of the crowd, Arnold shook hands and departed on his bus for the next stop.
Destroy the Car Tax!
The crowd goes wild!
More crowd.

You should've been there.

Thanks for your wonderful report and great photos. I'm cublicle-bound in the Torrance area, so I appreciate the view you've given those of us who wish we could have been there. BTW Dave Dreier has done a superb job for Arnold. Hope it pays off for him down the line.

My youngest saw an "Imeach Bush" bumper sticker while leaving her school parking lot the other day, ruined her whole day.

I know I should have been there, but I had to keep working at my job while it is still in California!!!

Ah, now THAT I like. You apologize once, that's it, period.
[and yes, if you've done wrong, you do apologize, no excuses]
No dwelling on past sins, no grovelling, no dragging it out ad nauseum.
Very very good.

That guy was in OC too, outside the venue, and down the road a bit. I wonder if he drove through the border check at San Onofre wearing that suit?

So this is where they hang out when they're not out bashing Freepers.
I was curious why a "Freeper Report" was published about a Schwarzenegger campaign stop. I expected a group of protest photos but stumbled into the nest instead.
My sorry. I'll just exit quietly before I'm discovered by the matriarch.
