Oh come on. Life is too short to wallow in despair. Death happens whether you like it or not. You are also going to die.

Personally, I want people celebrating the end of my life, my will stipulates I buy the beer!

The best memory I have of burying on of my grandmothers is the fact we cremated her. On the way to the gravesite I took the box with the ashes. A friend of the family was in the back seat and asked, "I don't see a hearse, where's the body?" I picked up the box and handed it to him and said, "right here". He freaked! We all laughed.

My grandmother would have loved it. She was such a jokester.

When a friend of mine's dad died, he had stipulated that he wanted the viewing at their house, not at a funeral home. One of the specific reasons: so alcohol could be served. This removed the need for the traditional role of the parking lot at funerals involving my family.

And there is a difference in humor shared among family members when remembering their loved one and someone's loved one being treated disrespectfully by hired help. It was funny about your cousin freaking out and thinking of grandma, it would not have been funny if the folks at the funeral home threw garbage into your grandma's incinerator while they were cremating her. I guess the distinction is lost on many here.

Shalom!

Hi...Fledermaus,

"Oh come on. Life is too short to wallow in despair. Death happens whether you like it or not. You are also going to die"....

********

I can assure you that I am Not wallowing in despair.

You are correct, Death will come a-knocking on my door one day, and I am more than READY and WILLING to "GO" when The LORD makes that Call.

Because I know, that I Know where I am Going!

Once I breathe my last on this Earth, I will be Translated (in the Twinkling of an Eye) on a Non-Stop Flight straight to Heaven and ushered into the GLORIOUS Presence of my LORD, Savior and King of Kings: Yeshua / Jesus The Messiah, The Holy One of Israel.

Amen ~ and ~ Amen!

PS: Please read my other posts / comments: #'s 64 & 85 on this thread.
