The libs are always saying, "We need open and honest dialogue about race in this country." And then when someone gives an honest opinion in the open -- that isn't laced with "white guilt" -- they get crucified.

Excellent point. It leads me to believe that the "We need open and honest dialogue about race in this country." line is the "BAIT" for the naive, who upon taking it, as you stated, do indeed "get crucified."
