"3. The 'media' want to see a black quarterback succeed and that is why the media over-hyped McNabb, because he is a black man and they wanted him to succeed. "

Well put and I believe that it is mostly unintentional on the media's part. They are so brainwashed and guilt ridden that their leanings toward favoritism of any minority or percieved underdog is almost innate.

Its the same, imo, as the so-called GREAT White Hope in boxing. Many a fight is over-hyped because a white boxer is involved.

Its similar to our local paper that absolutely must run a picture of black tennis player Serena Williams whether she has won, lost or withdrawn. See Tiger Woods also. (Both of whom I have respect for).

The 'media' has not CONSPIRED to be biased in favor of minorities, but they have been trained to. Its not intential, its just what they do.

Rush was on ESPN to talk about football, not to harrumph about his political views regarding "liberal" bias in the media. What he said was not racist, but what he did do was allege racism (favoring one race over aonther) on the part of other people. That's fine when he's on the air as a political commentator, but not when he's on the air as a football analyst.

At least, not according to the people who were paying him to be a football analyst.

(posting again because the duplicate thread was pulled)

I have amazed myself with how concerned I am with this. I had never realized how much he had influenced me. (for the betteR) I don't see this as a coordinated attack by the "left", but as several things bubbling in the pot for Rush.

If he had a choice, he should not of resigned. Knowing how he is, I feel he didn't have that choice. But it is just as likely he is 'tired'.

The pill thing bothers me, for I think it shows he is under exteme pressure and, if true, has some issues he needs to get straight. But it does not show hypocrasy in his political and social views.

If you apply his way of thinking, in the long run it should make him stronger, but I suspect he may just not see it as his fight anymore. The man has a lot of enemies out there, is getting older, and he has a lot of money in the bank. Golfing requires less stress.

Even if one does not believe in some of his stands on issues, I think he needs to hear from people who support him overall at this time, and I think we need to stand up without him for for him and what we believe.

This is pretty simple, this case. Rush called the media's racial bias clearly and succinctly, and the media is outraged that their cover is blown.

I'm afraid it wasn't on line (sorry if I lead you to believe that)...it was in the latest September issue of National Review...if you go on line and inquire at NRO about the article, they may be able to link it to you. I've passed the magazine on to my husband who is devouring it as we speak...:)
