Someone hopped up on pain killers couldn't keep up Rush's schedule. I've known people that abused the stuff that Rush is being acused of taking, and there is no way he could function the way he does doing that. Now uppers on the other hand. But Rush is much to focused in his work and on his golf game to be a pill popper.

Besides he could easily find a Doctor Feelgood to prescribe him anything he needed, why would he go through a maid? Why would he trust a maid to do more than dust the china?

Another thing to remember is that Rush is a really good amateur golfer who, to the irritation of his listeners, plays in a lot ot tournaments. The quantity of downers he is alleged to have taken would really distrupt his coordination, making it almost impossible for him to play golf as well as he does.
