Poor baby. Prayers being said. Did they put her back on Morphine? I wish they would put her back on a steady morphine drip. I hate to hear about her suffering like this.

It has always been my understanding that the body heals better when it isn't concentrating on the pain, but on healing. There really is a body of science behind that theory. I'm "not" a doctor.. just brainstorming here.

I also know from my past experience working in Peds in a hospital, that sometimes families worry about using sedative drugs, but there really is a benefit from using pain medications in situations like this. There could be reasons they can't use sedation too. Just a tough tough situation. I'm so so sorry.

Anyway.. prayers are being sent to our Father in Heaven.. may He guide all involved and give comfort and healing. Such a sad situation. Just heartbreaking!!

I'm like you, I woke up this morning wondering if they could give epidurals to children. Well, I looked it up on the internet and it said they could so I had my daughter-in-law (she calls her every day) ask. Well, the upshot is that in her condition it would be too dangerous.

I don't know what they are giving her but it isn't morphine, but it sounds pretty powerful. My daughter-in-law says that she's just whimpering rather than crying and sometimes screaming now. She has had some sleep but not enough. The sad thing is that she was in the other hospital for 10 days and they never diagnosed her and so the problem just got worse.
