I've been attacked for pointing out that Bush ran as moderate conservative (if such a thing exists), but his actual policies are definitely left wing. His domestic proposals are farther left than Clinton's. His budget alone makes Clinton look like a conservative to a lot of people. It's people like Bush who make conservatives look like hypocrites because he is allowed to call himself a conservative, but allowed to be a "moral leftist" as opposed to Bill Clinton's "immoral leftist."
To quote Homer Simpson, "Welcome to the real world, hippy!". 9/11 exposed the bankruptcy of your worldview, and all the tired old Chomsky-inspired cliches won't change that.
The only thing that 9/11 did was scare soccer moms and dads into relinquishing more of their childrens' freedoms to the state in the name of "homeland security."
Bush has run his so-called War on Terrorism like an idiot. The only way that we will stop Islamic terrorism is to destroy Islam itself.
