[history]
It is critically important that we elect Arnold Schwarzenegger governor on Oct. 7, 2003.
I was elected to the state Assembly last November having recently retired after serving 31 years as a law enforcement officer. I had also served for more than three years on a local school board. But nothing in that experience really prepared me for what I encountered upon my arrival in Sacramento -- a ruling liberal Democrat majority that is about to march this state off an economic cliff.

Benoit's just another RINO who's pandering to the liberals in this state and in this country. Right?

ambrose, I think you're becoming a closet Arnold fan. How insulting.
Actually, I am simply seeing what is inevitable at this point. RINO treachery destroyed McClintock's campaign with the "he cannot win" mantra - which has now been disproven with the recent Gallup poll. However, what's done is done. I really do hope that Arnold will prove me wrong.
And this recall ain't a "done deal" by any means... see above, where Cruz is threatening to unleash an army of illegal aliens on election day...

LOL. It has to really pain them to hear good things about Arnold when they want so much to believe that he is the devil incarnate.
I really don't think any of us are of the belief that Arnold is a staunch conservative in some areas that are near and dear to our hearts, but............ I think he truly wants to improve the crises that most affect California at the moment. Whereas, the Democrats want nothing more than to run us further into the ground.

I picked up a USA Today this morning, and found a table with bulletpoints on the California budget, with these listed for Schwarzenegger:
Arnold Schwarzenegger (R):
Repeal the $4 billion car tax.
Pledges not to raise taxes or trim education spending. Would make deep cuts elsewhere.
Would stop paying legislators until budget is balanced.
Had you heard this before, about not paying the legislators?

Had you heard this before, about not paying the legislators? Hadn't heard it, but it sounds good. I can hear them squealing now.

Great article.
And how dare you insult roscoe, implying that he might have re-thought, and opted to vote for the most conservative candidate who can win? What were you thinking?

As a legal immigrant, he came here specifically to avail himself of the opportunities present in a democratic, free market economy. He enjoyed great personal success in business long before he became an actor. He wants to be sure that others can emulate his success and help move our economy forward.
Schwarzenegger is on the record as wanting the federal government to legalize Illegal Aliens. This would not be good for California.

"NO BALANCED BUDGET....NO PAYCHECK"
To: redlipstick
Would stop paying legislators until budget is balanced. What a wondeful idea. So let me get this straight... The Rats can hold out for higher taxes, and will get their salaries paid by Unions and Moveon.org, while the pubbies will be worried about missing their mortgage payments unti finally, a few RINOs cave in for higher taxes.

"The future of California can be bright again, but only if we can affect major change in Sacramento. Mr. Schwarzenegger can win. He can also bring a fresh and invigorating new perspective to the capitol. He possesses the ability to exert the influence necessary to bring the Democrat majority back to a more reasonable, business friendly posture."
What makes anyone think that Arnold, or anyone else, will be able to convince the dims to vote supporting any Rep? They will still be the majority party and may feel the recall was unjust in removing their govenor. Would anyone expect Tom McClintock to change his beliefs & support Cruz, for the good of the state, if Cruz wins.
Think about it - a new govenor will change very few hearts & minds in Sacramento. If nothing gets done after the recall - who will get the blame. Probably Arnold for not being able to deiver on his campaign promises.
The armies are massing & the battle will not start until after the recall.
