Self-described "independent" leftist Arianna Huffington has finally shown her true colors: She's just part of Gray Davis's Democrat hate machine.
Although Arnold Schwarzenegger is running as a Republican, not an independent, Huffington made this bizarre statement last night as she ended her unpopular campaign for governor of California: "The problem is that Arnold is running a campaign pretending to be an independent ... when, in fact, he is a Bush Republican."
Strange words for someone who had just proved herself a Davis Democrat by opposing the election she tried to compete in.
"This is about preventing a Republican hijacking of the state," the mansion-dwelling would-be "environmentalist" whined. Of course she wouldn't have considered it a hijacking had the voters supported her.
Although the United States is a constitutional republic, leftists are always falsely claiming it is a "democracy." But they sure don't like the democracy that California's Constitution grants to the voters.
Even L.A. Times Has Bad News for Davis
Sorry, Arianna and Gray: Even the new poll by the pro-Democrat Los Angeles Times, which has a history of running leftward-skewed surveys, shows the recall succeeding 56 percent to 42 percent.
Schwarzenegger had support from 40 percent of likely voters. Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante had 32 percent, and Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock had 15 percent. Huffington's support plunged from 3 percent on Sept. 12 to less than 0.5 percent.

Geez. What happened to her? If ever there was an 'evil twin' candidate, she is it.

Arianna also proved she is no debater. One other thing the bizarre minx came up with is an assertion that Arnold has no experience in Governing. At the risk of boring others with repetition, I point out that Davis DOES have experience with Governing, and the voters don't like his governance and are about to boot him.

Arianna was the candidate for change...Just ask her husband.

Never thought anyone could ever be shriller,

I understand the the Rev. Fred Phelps himself says that Michael Huffington is a special case deserving of sympathy and understanding.

LOL! The list of women that would elicit a "yes" response to the question: "would you chose homosexuality over being married to ______________?" has now risen to two names, in my case.

Arianna is sounding more and more like she had a crush on Arnold but he rejected her. If she is against recall why did she run?

For a time she was an eccentric, generally conservative columnist...then her husband decided he was gay. Ever since then she's been a raving nutball with no consistancy whatsoever.

What I never liked about Arianna is her grandiose attitude.
She accused Arnold of impersonating someone else when she's
the phoniest of them all. I can hear her sharpening her nails right now.....bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz she makes Hillary look like a lightweight...

Arianna also proved she is no debater. I think she made Shwarzneggers Campaign a success. Remember when she challenged him on his afterschool fitmness initiative, stating that it was unfunded? He came back at her with a defense of it that showed he knew the facts. .. His performance was well received because of that..So, if he wins, he should thank her. Quite ironic.
To: Nonstatist
I was keenly interested at that point in the debate to see how he would defend it. He pointed out that it wasn't funded because there had to be a surplus for it to be funded. He knew the facts and she didn't have enough smarts to make a real issue of it.

He knew the facts and she didn't have enough smarts to make a real issue of it.If he wins, its because of that debate, even though the media has tried to show it as an unbecoming cat fight. Neither she or Bustamante made a case for themselves or used specifics to address the problems.
I must say, Arnold's done everything right so far, knock on wood.

Arnould never once stated that he wasn't a Republican. If Ms Arianna thought he was running as anything else, then it was her mistake to make.

Arianna is sounding more and more like she had a crush on Arnold but he rejected herI get this same impression whenever I see a Molly Ivins column critical of George W. Bush, which is all of her articles.
To: kattracks
She did this for two reasons:
1) She yearns for attention and for some reaon the media actually allows her to pretend to be a pundit.
2) She hates all Republicans and she wants to sell books.
