I ride my bike 5,000+ miles and year and ride responsibly, stay to the right as safety permits, commute to work 3-4 times per week 8 months of the year. 99.99% percent of the cars pass me no problem.Yeah, but ironman, you're a good guy. You're on the road merely for the exercise. It's people with a chip on their shoulder and an attitude like olorin who give some of your people a bad name.
I'd never expect you to be a bastard. You are the epitome of good manners and a good attitude.

You know nothing about how I ride -realize it is my best interests NOT to piss of cars - I'm not surrounded by steel. My angry comments follow idiot's remarks who seem to condone violence on bicyclists regardless of how they ride.

Just like there are bad drivers there are bad cyclists. I'm a triathlete and train solo or in small groups. We ride single file where we need too. The pure cycling roadies on the other hand can time up traffic when they get their big packs together. I am really sensitive about this car issue. One of my team mates when we did the 1992 transcontinental Race Across America 2 years ago almost got killed when a man talking on his cell phone weaved onto the shoulder. Struck him from behind at 50 miles per hour. Many years ago some jerk kids pulled beside me and shot me with a paint ball gun. Put a big welt on my hip. I've often thought of hanging a sign on my back saying "PROTECTED BY GLOCK."
