Better stated, the nature of the evidence v the seriousness of the charge.

"Exactly, what was Novak's agenda to name her?"
His comment relating to her was a minor part of a minor theme and my guess it (and he has so stated) that he didn't believe there was any significance to the comments.

every member of the White House staff was being ordered to "preserve all materials that might be relevant." Over eight years of the Clinton administration, such legal warnings became all but business as usual for White House employees.
Except in the Clinton administration, the orders came with a map showing the location of the nearest shredder.

I know and I know his intentions were good when he did that. He didn't want to tarnish the Clinton's any further and felt it was important for the country to move on after the contentious election. The American people were exhausted from all the scandals and finger pointing and I think he wanted a fresh start for everybody. I was upset that Hillary got a free pass and was able to become a senator. One comment from a prosecuter rang quite true and helped me get over it--they would have to find a jury in D.C. that would convict her. Even if they could go to Virginia, same problem. Then it would look like the pubs were pouring on and Bush would be under that cloud.
I find one of the biggest problems with this latest "leak" investigation is if Bush wins a 2nd term and wants to get rid of the Clinton leftovers (Tenet, others at CIA)he will be accused of punishing them for this investigation. I am wondering if someone wasn't already looking into Ms. Plume's role in this whole mess. I understand Wilson is now back to saying he has absolute evidence of Rove's involvement. Someone didn't like him backing down on that one. I would like to see which news reporters told Wilson that Rove said his wife was fair game. I want to know how the trip got set up, who paid his expenses (supposedly not the CIA),and why a written report was not given to anyone but the NYT. If she used her position to push an agenda then we need to know that. This doesn't seem to be an apolitical family with Helen Thomas,Judy Wudruff,Time and The Nation mag,and the NYT involved. Stinky dinky stuff going on here. :)

It could hardly come at a worse time. What a stunning example of Crocodile Tears!
Did a Google image search for "crocodile tears" and this liberal hate cartoon pops up. Looks like it was published before the Dems lost several Senate seats making fools of themselves.
