"A guy can't make a joke around here without some humorless people jumping all over him "
Usually, when people make jokes or sarcastic comments, they put the /sarcasm tag on. That's what helps us know that you are kidding. Otherwise, we think that you are serious!

Gee, if they've been violating people's rights for this long, then I guess it should be okay. /sarcasm

Crooked politicos from third world pissholes typically steal cars.
Why should LA be any different?
Hey you belligerent, illiterate, arrogant thieves who call yourselves 'the law' in LA, if you one day learn to read, read this:
Amendment V: No person shall be...deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law...

We ceded the point a long time ago. Not much chance of changing it now. Too much precedence. Doesn't make it right, of course, that's just the reality of it. I suppose if the populace had gotten jumpin' ugly back when they started seizing property, in many cases without even filing charges, as a part of the Drug War (which is where all this crap started), things might be different. But Americans wouldn't recognize a slippery slope if it was snowing and they we were wearing skis.

That's fer sure! Hey, as long as it's *someone else's* property (meaning, someone not like me) being confiscated, that's okay. People don't seem to realize that the same violations of due process that allow the confiscation of others' property also authorizes the confiscation of their own. It's the old, "That could NEVER happen to me" thing.
