Cliff May, on Fox News this morning, said that before Novak's column appeared, a democrat told him who Wilson's employer was. I heard this so looked to see if he wrote it down and found it. The only thing he left out is the timing of the *dem* telling him was before Novak's item was printed.

THE WILSON SAGA: A RECAP [Cliff May] Everyone seems to accept that if the White House leaked the name and occupation of Joe Wilson's wife it was done to "smear" him. But how does that information smear Wilson?

When I learned that his wife worked for the CIA, it caused me to think better about him. In fact, one friend, a Democrat, cited his wife's occupation to me to suggest that Wilson was not as rabid a partisan as I believed (and as I had alleged in NRO).

The alternative explanation that Wilson has suggested: That his wife's name was leaked to "intimidate" him. What does that mean? That the idea was that some foreign agent might attempt to kill Mrs. Wilson?

Are reputable journalists really taking such an allegation seriously?

There is no such animal as a reputable liberal journalist, in fact it is an oxymoron! We can only hope that in the aftermath of this story, more people will see through their hate laden agenda!

I read an article today saying that one of 3 questions that had to be answered before an investigation could go further (I think on MSNBC, don't remember) is whether her name could have been found any way other than leaked classified info. The CIA answered "no". Good grief--yesterday morning a freeper was posting links to the bio at Middle Eastern Institute or Studies that plainly said he was married to the former Valerie Plame.
