A former professional footballer has been found guilty of planning to attack a Nato air base in Belgium.
Nizar ben Abdelaziz Trabelsi, 33, a member of al-Qa'eda, had planned a suicide bomb attack on the Kleine Brogel air base, used by the United States Army and rumoured to house nuclear weapons.
The court in Brussels heard that Trabelsi had met Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan.
Trabelsi is a former member of German football team Fortuna Duesseldorf. He was detained in Brussels shortly after the attack on the World Trade Centre, and is one of 23 alleged members of al-Qa'eda on trial in Belgium. He faces a maximum 10-year sentence.
Amazing.
Oh wait. I just realized that theory was shot a long time ago with our pro players in the US.
So the best approach is to get your kids involved in sports to keep them busy from 3:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon and for the health benefits. But you don't want them to get too good at big money sports, because then they enter the weird world of college and pro sports, where character matters much less than performance.
