The advantages of older women are that they are less confused about what they want, and at 39 or older you get less of "my biological clock is ringing", in that if they haven't had kids by then, they usually don't want to have them.
I know a guy who pretty much had to date women 10 years of more younger than himself because if he dated women his own age, it looked like he was with his mother -- he said he was glad to finally be in his 50s --- he was one of those permanent bachelors who kept getting done in by those biological clocks going off --- he said it was a relief to finally not have that in the way when he could date women over 40.
