Iraqi diplomat/intelligence officer, in Prague.


Late August 2001
Events
• It is reported that two suspected hijackers, Mohammed Atta and Marwan al-
Shehhi, visited a Delray Beach, FL pharmacy in late August. Atta complained of
a burning sensation in his hands and was evasive about the cause, while al-Shehhi
claimed to need cough medicine. Neither inquired about anthrax antibiotics.

• A letter addressed to singer/actress Jennifer Lopez arrives at American Media,
Inc. (AMI) in FL. The envelope reportedly contains a fan letter, a Star of David,
and a bluish powder (reported variously as a soapy, white/powdery substance). It
was passed around to several employees, including Bob Stevens.
