This sounds more and more like something that Joseph C. Wilson IV cooked up himself, by letting some reporter in on the background, then that reporter asked a seemingly innocent question of one of the White House operatives, thus "proving" the leak came from the White House.
But was it really a secret, that the spouse of Joseph C. Wilson IV worked for the CIA?

Wilson is an egotistical piece of work who considers his needs above those of others, IMO. I saw him speak and I know the type well. And he got his words into the New York Times in a way extremely damaging to Bush so he's no friend of the current administration. In fact, I betcha he has a lot of friends who are good loyal democrats and so does his wife. He'll go away shortly with a little more sunlight.

That's certainly the Clintonista M.O. - leak something, then blame your opponent for it. Just ask Kenneth Starr.
