It is reported that Clintonites still walk the halls of the White House and other departments. The head of the anti-terrorist task force is and was a Clintonite. Bush 43 refuses to terminate their stay, for whatever reason. My sources include: AP, Rush Limbaugh, and Laura Ingraham interviews concerning same.
With that said, Bush 43, Karl Rove, and the rest are responsible for any and all decisions concerning the employment of people that pose a threat to National Security (how many times did Clintonites risk the USA). Bush 43 and Karl Rove are responsible for any and all decisions concerning the employment of Clintonites that pose risks to the GOP IN ANY GIVEN ELECTION.
Above those two points, I cannot discern if Bush 43 or Rove are guilty of lawlessness concerning retribution of a CIA agent. But I know this much, if all things pan out as the media indicates (tall order given their ability to lie) someone will fall on the sword and it will not be Bush 43.
I just hope that no one's cover is blown because of "political calculations" by either party.

I am with you 100% -- this leak did not come from the Bush inner circle! They all know the media is out to take down Bush and Novak is far from a friend of this Administration.

It shows how little they know about Karl Rove and President Bush! Makes me think there is a real agenda out there since Rove orchestrated the Bush victory in 2000 -- they want him out of the way in 2004!

Ah, I was right. You don't like Novak's political views so you somehow equate this with him being less than honest in his reporting--despite the FACT that he has well-earned reputation for honest reporting. Attacking the messenger appears to be your only response.

Now if I remember right, didn't the previous administration release some information from Linda Tripp's personal file? No big deal then!
To: The_Victor
"I don't have any knowledge that Karl Rove himself was either the leaker or the authorizer of the leak. But I have great confidence that, at a minimum, he condoned it and certainly did nothing to shut it down."Oh, so you have no evidence for accusation #1, so you make accusation #2 which you also have no evidence for. Well, Wilson, I have great confidence that you had intimate relations with Saddam Hussein.
Wesley Clark disease.

So? What's your point? Is Lou Dobbs not a conservative? Then if Dobb's is so conservative why did he crawl back to CNN? Are you denying that Dobb's interent business failed?

Have you ever seen Novak on the Capitol Gang on CNN? If he's a conservative, I'll eat my hat. Novak unlike you is a REAL conservative. You confuse being conservative with being a mouth piece for the Republican Party and this administration. That is two different things. One puts ideology before party, the other puts party before ideology. Novak is the former. See the difference? With Bush's extreme leftward lurch it is difficult for any conservative to spin for this administration.

Novak unlike you is a REAL conservative. Then why does Novak have that goofy smile and nary a peep while he lets Shields, Margaret Carlson, and Hunt hog all the time.
JMO, WR, you are the victim of the cult of personality of Bob Novak.

You have no idea whether my views are "true conservative" or not.
I've been watching Novak on Capitol Gang long before Bush was on the national scene and have never considered him a true conservative.

So journalists previously published political comments are off limits to you? Opinions and FACTS are 2 different things. Apparently like the other Blind Bush Loyalists around here you cannot separate the two in your mind. If you don't like the reporter, despite a reputation for straight reporting, that reporter must by lying. Election season is in the air.

Wilson said Monday that if the administration actually took an intelligence asset "off the table," that would have been "a dastardly deed ... coming from an administration that came to office promising to restore dignity and honor to the White House. It was contemptible." I smell a rat. First of all, I agree with Cliff May that many people from plenty of agencies probably knew that Valerie Palme was working for the CIA. Anyone could have tipped off reporters claiming he/she was from the WH. Presuming she was stationed in Washington, I doubt she was engaging in any covert activties and is in no present danger from this disclosure. It will be difficult to station her overseas again, which is why Wilson mentions taking "an intelligence asset off of the table." Overseas, many CIA agents are declared with the host government.
Ms. Palme may have to finish out her CIA career in the US, but this is not that unusual. Depending on her age and number of years in (she can retire at age 50 with 20 years service), she and her husband (Amb Wilson) can live comfortably on their combined USG pensions, which probably total around $150K.
I think Wilson's strident opposition to the liberation of Iraq is based more on personal ambition than principle. He is hoping that a future Dem President will reward him with a job in his administration or some major think tank will pick him up. I particularly resent his allegations that the administration pressured the intelligence community to shape its analysis to meet W's objectives. This guy is a gadfly who is basking in his 15 minutes of fame.

Novak is anti-Isreal, pro-Pali. Is THAT conservative? Is wanting John McCain to be president conservative? Novak has been wrong on so many issues that I'm surprised you believe him on this one. Novak is not one to be trusted, IMO. But since you often go against the adminstration and never seem to have anything good to say about the President, it does not surprise me that you would be a Novak fan or that you would be prepared to think the worst about Bush and his people.

Would be really nice if you all would find sources that are accurate when trying to slander Karl Rove! If you had bothered to check reliable sources you would have discovered that Karl Rove was involved in Texas only politics in 1992. He was a member of the Bush 41's campaign for Vice President but he was not fired -- in fact that is when he became acquainted with George W Bush who he thought would make a very good Texas Governor!
Rove was not fired from Pres Bush 41's campaign staff. In fact until 2000 when he became part of George W. Bush's staff for President, Karl Rove was involved in Texas politics only!
This is from Texas Monthly (http://www.texasmonthly.com/mag/issues/2000-09-01/feature6.php?1635354926): Rove envisioned Bush as the party's nominee to succeed Clements as governor in 1990, but when the father won the presidency in 1988, the son's political career was put on hold. Rove had to be content with two significant downballot victories, Kay Bailey Hutchison as state treasurer and Rick Perry as agriculture commissioner. When President Bush lost his reelection bid in 1992, the way was clear for George W. to challenge Ann Richards in 1994.

To: WRhine
You seem to have a lot invested in defending Novak. Considering his views on many "conservative" platforms, I think it's quite easy to make an argument that he is not the true conservative you believe him to be. But you go right ahead and defend him to your hearts content and attack Freepers who dare make comments against a journalist.
