In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip is watching you. She has a large telescope with her today. She will be yanking you out of class and into the Janitors closet if you are evil, and then maybe sending you off to the Principals office to refresh your memory on the usage of his learning stick. And, yes, the paddle has those wondrous holes in them.
flatulence noun:
Pronunciation: flatu-lens Etymology: Flatus Latin a blowing
Excessive gas in the stomach and intestines.
Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!
Now, Vast and xsmommy, play nicely in here today with all the other students! Flurry, you behave yourself, otherwise Nurse Helga will take care of your flatulence in a not so nice way.
I heard Principal Robinson is roaming the halls today, so all of you students be on your best behavior.
You must use the WFTD in a sentence for an A. For a + after your A, you must bring in a link of the word usage or something funny, a poem or some prose that will elucidate the word for us.
If you need to know how to link, come to the Subbies desk in the front of the class.

when I was a kid one of my mother's friends had a wide white strip through the middle of her jet black hair - she truly looked like a skunk.
But she didn't do it on purpose, she was born that way. and after many years of keeping it dyed, she said the heck with it and just let it be.

Boy, I'll bet she's surprised to see people paying perfectly good money to look just like Cruella Deville...

That's only because he was possessed. And he had an eating disorder, preferring human flesh and wood. ;) I'm still hoping he chomps on the woman who took him back. Not that she'd ever admit it...

I'm dealing with an obnoxious twit on another thread.
He posted a picture of tinfoil after I made reference to the robert wood Johnson foundation profitting from their penchant for prohibitionistic tendencies when it comes to smoking and drinking.
And then he calls me and CSM liars and a hypocrites.

I see them! I have a sofa table that I need to sand and re-stain because both of my dogs gnawed the legs as puppies. At least you have that option. Our dining room table is a very old (family says ~400+ years) Spanish?/Italian? trestle table; its feet have been gnawed on by so many dogs it's now hopeless. But that just adds to the, um, well-used effect of the whole table.

They did surprisingly well. More than half of the arrows hit the targets. All eyes still in sockets but I can't speak for the 3rd or 4th graders. ;)
