Over size caskets are just that, over size. Most manufactures of caskets make them wider, longer and deeper to accommodate the larger citizens. The amount of "straw" that you make mention of has been replaced by a adjustable bedding quite similar to a portion of a army cot that enables the mortician to raise and lower the body to properly position in the casket whether oversize or regular.

And yes....I am a mortician and in fact owner of a rural funeral home.

dude, is there something like the stretch limo retrofit industry for coffins?
Will there be?
Seems like a solid niche, since:
a) no shortage of grossly obese people
b) said people do tend to die young
