New York Sen. Hillary Clinton warned Californians on Friday that GOP gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger is part of a right-wing stampede hell-bent on taking over California the same way they've taken over the nation.
"Let's make it absolutely clear that California is not going to be stampeded by the same right-wingers that gave us the election in Florida and are trying to do things that are really against our interest," Clinton told a West Hollywood "women's rally" for incumbent Gov. Gray Davis via telephone.
Sen. Clinton branded Schwarzenegger with the right-wing label even though the former movie actor takes the liberal position on a wide array of issues near and dear to Democrats, such as abortion-rights and gun control.
She blamed ballooning budget deficits that have plagued Gov. Davis on the "miserable leadership in Washington," according to quotes picked up by Reuters.

- But your calculus re McClinton--er--tock is flawed, I fear..
-
- Is it your premise that Bustamonte will deliver CA to Bush? Or do you think it will be McClintock?.
-
- The overriding fact of the matter is this: McClintock is not Reagan.
-
- That McClintock cannot see this -- or chooses not to -- coupled with his demonstration, in real tiime, of political (as opposed to ideological) rigidity, are a clear illustration of why he is uniquely unfit to be the governor of the cultural hodgepodge known as the state of California.
-
- Even if he were to win--a mathematically if not a PR impossibility--he would be unable, with his utter political rigidity, to deliver anything.
Whenever McClintock invokes Reagan, I cannot help but think of Dan Quayle's injudicious JFK analogy....
- (So where is the Lloyd-Benson deus ex machina already? . "I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. But I can tell you one thing, Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy!")

- Act IV, Scene I:
- The White House. In the middle a boiling Cauldron.
-
- Thunder. Enter the three (unvetted) Witches.
-
- FIRST WITCH. Thrice the brinded fat cat hath mew'd.
-
- SECOND WITCH. Thrice and once the hobbled hedge-pig whined.
-
- THIRD WITCH. Hubbelled Harpier cries: 'T is time, 't is time.
-
- FIRST WITCH (a Democrat with conspiratorial leanings):
- Round about the cauldron go;
- In the poison'd records throw.
- Foster, that under cold stone
- Days and nights has thirty-one
- Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
- Boil thou first i' the charmed pot.
-
- ALL
- Double, trouble TOIL for HUBBELL;
- Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
-
- SECOND WITCH (a Liberal Democrat):
- Fillet of BURTON snake,
- In the cauldron boil and bake;
- Eye of NEWT, and toe of LOTT,
- LIMBAUGH'S tongue, a forget-me-not;
- THURMOND'S fork, and THOMPSON'S sting,
- HELM'S leg, and QUAYLE wing,
- For a charm of powerful trouble
- Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
-
- ALL
- Double, trouble TOIL for HUBBELL;
- Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
-
- THIRD WITCH (a stealth Conservative)
- Scale of BONIOR, tooth of WOLF,
- HILLARY'S memory, maw and gulf
- A ravin'd salt-sea shark,
- Ears of the MARTINS digg'd i' the dark,
- Gall of BILL, and McCURRY'S slips
- "Noes" of LANNY, and HUBBELL'S lips,
- Finger of ICKES ditch-deliver'd by a drab,
- Make the gruel thick and slab:
- Add thereto a Chinese squadron,
- For the ingredients of our cauldron.
-
- ALL
- Double, trouble TOIL for HUBBELL;
- Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
-
- SECOND WITCH:
- Cool it with cash and blood,
- Then the charm is firm and good.
-
- Enter Lady MacClinton:
-
- LADY MacCLINTON:
- O! well done! I commend your pains,
- And every one shall share i' the gains.
- And now about the cauldron sing,
- Like elves and fairies in a ring,
- Enchanting all that you put in.
- [Music, and a Song, 'Black spirits,' and company...

This proves Schwarzenegger is not a right winger. Everything Hillary is a liar!
To: ambrose
Hillary! Thanks for your endorsement! You just helped kick Gray Davis' butt from the Governor's Office. The truth is the Clintons are conservatives' best kept weapon against Democrats and the other party still hasn't figured out that Bubba and Hildabeast are like vampires who feed off them, slowly killing them. I hope they never wake up.

Holy Cow, I know we are on the same side about Hillary, I've seen your, how shall I say, "composite" posts on her before, but does this mean you don't agree that RINO Govs actually hurt Presidential campaigns? Did you even think about that?
What a completely insane rant!
The overriding fact of the matter is this: McClintock is not Reagan.
Thank you, uhhh, when was that said, oh strawman beater? I mean, I know small minded people can't stick to issues and need to whip out Talking Points, but that is the rather goofiest tangent I've ever seen on FR. I don't doubt that Bustamante would deliver CA to Bush because of his failure to arrest the debt, but the POINT, (you know, staying on topic and avoiding emotional outbursts?) is that your liberal Republican most certainly will not deliver the state to Bush because it will fall apart.
Normally I NEVER do this, but your "poetry" was so completely and incrediably silly, I think you need to study this map----real hard.
and after that, study this;
then perhaps you can stop making yourself look ridiculous fighting against Conservatives like the hypocrite you are, and stop doing this.

MacClinton--McClintock. Your ad hominems are in plain view, but your sense of humor is nowhere in sight.... As for the relative merits of governors along the liberal-conservative continuum: Empirical evidence, (if not common sense), supports the notion that state control and electoral loss are inversely related, all other things being equal. And as for your point regarding Bustamonte, I merely note that liberal-malfeasance/malpractice-induced massive debt has thus far failed to deliver California to the Republicans. My argument really has little to do with ideology and everything to do with efficacy. If McClintock has demonstrated through his political rigidity that he is uniquely unfit to govern this state, Arnold has demonstrated precisely the opposite. These are serious times that demand serious thought. We cannot afford the luxury of parochial attitudes, petty fights and hypernuanced policy. We are fighting a war for our very survival!
If the democrats retain control of CA, then so do the clintons. If the democrats retain control of CA, THE CLINTONS' value system (and utter failures) will be operational....
ALL Republicans and conservatives really must examine the consequences of this recall on the presidency, on our country, on the world.
Think it though to its logical end. If we have clinton redux, we can all kiss our value systems good-bye... likely forever.

Clinton told a West Hollywood "women's rally"
This is a flat-out lie...there are about as many "women's rallies" in West Hollywood as there are maternity wards....nada, nary-a-nary, zero.
You gots to have wimmins in your 'community' to have any or all of the above. West Hollywood doesn't allow wimmins...

I agree with your comments. This is an important election for the nation.
Many say that California will not go for Bush in 2004, and so the election of a Republican doesn't matter.
This simplistic view of elections, however, fails to take into account two things:
1. Continued democrat management of California is going to have a detrimental effect on recovery from the recession. This will effect the election nation-wide.
2. If Davis or Bustamante win, they will have increased their clout and that of the Clintons, who of course will claim credit for their success. Democrats will be able to hammer us with how they succeeded in keeping the governor's seat. This also will affect the natioinal election.
I hope everyone in California can do what is necessary to defeat Busatmante and Davis.
