The Justice Department is investigating allegations that White House officials revealed the identity of a CIA agent, a senior Bush administration official said Sunday.

The disclosure of the agent's identity by a syndicated columnist came shortly after her husband had undermined President Bush's claim that Iraq had tried to buy uranium from Africa.

Get this over now before the election.

The Sgt. Shultz defense doesn't work for Republicans, only for Clintons.

Never reveal incest. It may be compromise national or Party security.

Hillary proclaimed, "The Party is the nation!" Lifetime apparatchiks and apparatdudes know what she means.

I pray that our Miss Ann Coulter will write the non-fiction books,

Fascism: The New Deal, Great Society, and What's Left relying on Blackrobes' "compelling State interests"'and

'Incest: State of the Reunion - family life in American politics and media'.

The ruling class is just that. Incest nearly assures that one or both or all the adults involved and their children, the bastards or other legitimate children will be inside the Beltway.

Our Homeland Security and our liberty depend on publication of reviews of spouse, ex- to prospective, lay osans, sisters, brothers, etc, etc, etc. in and out of government(s).

This incest threat matrix is real and and as we've seen with Barney Frank's sister - revolting.

When pressed as to whether anyone at the White House raised concern that the Wilson matter posed a problem for the administration, Rice replied, "I don't remember any such conversation."

Rut roh, there's no doubt that this issue was raised within the administration as a possible political problem, and that Rice in her capacity as National Security Advisor was privy to such a discussion. I expect one or more high level officials within the administration to resign soon. Not good.

The noise going around has the leak linked to Rove. I think we may see several more decide to "spend more time with their families" before the 04 election.

I was glad to see her identity revealed. A CIA operative with political motives against the nation's interest has no business in the intelligence service. George Tenet should have been fired on 9/12/2001. I have more faith in my local beat cops to find Bin Laden than I do in our pathetic CIA.

There are allegedly 70 overseas contacts dead because of it. If that turns out to be true will you still be so glad.

So you condone the illegal leaking of classified information as a partison payback against Wilson?

There was already a thread on this story posted last night.

montag813: I was glad to see her identity revealed. A CIA operative with political motives against the nation's interest has no business in the intelligence service.

Surely, Montag813, you did not think that through. How do you think the American people will react if the White House says that they have the right to reveal a CIA operative on political grounds. Think about this. Can you imagine how fast CIA agents around the world will resign, knowing that their names can and will be leaked for the mere reason that they do not agree with the current president, even if he is on your side?

Can you be more specific?

Only the CIA can confirm whether Plame was a covert operative. They haven't done so yet and I doubt they ever will, unless there is a spook purpose to do so. One could speculate that if she was covert, she could have been recruited as a double agent while hubby was stationed in Iraq. A tin foil hat scenario could be postulated that a double agent (Plame) then recruited a stooge (Wilson) to go to Niger to make sure any evidence of "yellowcake" disappeared. Some could speculate that what is going on now is a CIA attempt to neutralise a double agent without resorting to extreme prejudice. But, of course, one would need a tinfoil hat?

What is your source for this? I say total B.S. Regardless, a "covert" agent was out of bounds by injecting herself in a purely domestic-political issue on the Democrat/European side of the fence. I deeply distrust Tenet. I feel he is a dishonorable man who's entire M.O. is to cover his own ass. He should have been fired two years ago for failing to take action on obvious signs, alerts and warnings about 9/11.

Surely, Montag813, you did not think that through.

My point was that Mrs Wilson had absolutely no business as a covert agent injecting herself in a partisan domestical political issue, in a manner opposing the President. I don't agree with the leak. I believe she should have been canned outright. Tenet must also go.

From Drudge - no link as of 4:45, Central time. This is according to Bob Novak.

'Nobody in the Bush administration called me to leak this. In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told me the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clinton administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of undercover operatives'...

emphasis mine

This is a set up.  This is a manufactured hoax being perpetrated on the American people by the dims.  We should demand an investigation of those involved hurling these fraudulent accusations and prosecute them under the RICO statutes.  We should investigate Mr. Wilson and prosecute him for violating the confidentiality agreements he signed by disclosing classified information in the New York Times articles that he wrote.  We should prosecute him for conspiring to feed inaccurate information to our intelligence community by falsifying his so called investigation.  We should prosecute Mrs. Wilson (not the name she goes by) for violating ethics laws and steering a government to her husband.  If that's not a conflict of interest I don't know what is.

The Clinton administration spent 8 years placing their people into every niche they could in government.  Those people are loyal to Billary, not the US.  The CIA is one of the worst institutions in this regard, along with much of the Clinton Pentagon.  They cut the guts out of the CIAs DO and handcuffed them, then placed folks in positions of power in the DI, including this witch, who would give the Clinton spin to everything.  Bush has been hamstrung by a partisan minority in the Senate and kept from replacing the worst offenders.

This man and his wife should be very careful for the next couple of weeks.  If this story starts to lag or lose steam they may just be required to "commit Arkencide" to provide "legs" to the attacks.
