Amen, sistah!! I have a Jewish friend - a conservative at that - who has lit into me fiercely because I refuse to join the boycott before seeing the movie for myself. She indicated that she is afraid her son may get beaten up because of the movie. Her source? The ever-so-impartial, no-axe-to-grind Frank Rich of the paper she herself dubbed the "New York Slimes." When I reminded her of this, her response was "Sometimes even the Times gets it right."

Even if they do get something right once in a purple moon (and that's a big "if"), I see no reason to assume that is the case here. I'm not going to let the liberal, Catholic-bashing press make up my mind for me. There is a real threat to Jews in the world today, and it is indeed fundamentalist Islamists who are carrying out pogroms on a near-daily basis while American Jews are getting all bent out of shape over some silly movie.
