Jack Brickhouse and Lou Boudreau WERE the voice of the Cubs to me growing up. At the risk of offending "newer" Cubs fans, I always thought Harry Caray was a mushmouthed drunk in the booth.
How's this: my mom grew up three block from Wrigley, and my first game at the park was during an altar-boy field trip with our parish priest...

I totally agree. Lou was personal favorite as I explained above. Jack Brickhouse was much better than Caray. Caray reminded me of Harry Doyle play by Bob Uecker in the baseball movies. Sort of everybody laughing at him while pretending to laugh with him.
