lets audit those people who are writing off every facet of their lives as a "deductions" to see if its legal. we won't know until we check. and there are alot of people who need alot of checking done on them it seems, while the rest of us, you would describe as "suckers" I guess, for obeying the law and paying what they owe.
actually, you are simply making the case for what other posters have said: scrap the income tax, and move to consumption taxes and tariffs on foreign corporations. since the loopholes are far too many, and "suckers" like me are stupidly paying what we owe, why should I carry some "small business owner" writing off their mercedes while I have to pay out of my own pocket to drive a ford. or some corporation that has enough lawyers to figure out how to game the system, like Stanley Tools.

...actually, you are simply making the case for what other posters have said: scrap the income tax, and move to consumption taxes ... Please indicate where I am making that case. I have not done so. What I have done is predict that it will happen, but I have made no case to promote such.
And audits are already a part of our system - were you not aware?
Isn't it the case that corporations should do everything legal to minimize their expenses?
