It seems France and Germany are getting exactly what they claimed they want. Listen to them back and file....

This was part of the agreement with France and Germany in exchange for some civilian affairs help. Germany, for example, is sending people to train Iraqis to govern themselves-- with all that comes with it (municipal government sorts of things-- keeping the power on, the water running, the potholes filled, keeping teachers and policemen and firemen on the job, etc.).

Germany, for example, is sending people to train Iraqis to govern themselves- Yes the Germans are such experts in the subject.

Lessee, one year---although I've seen six months. That would put it right about August or so, with the elections taking place before ours. And then, I could just see a big ceremony in which the 4th ID hands over power to the Iraqi army and comes home. Shaping up nicely for 2004.
