Am I the only one who has noticed the trend lately that most stay at home moms these days (soccer moms) actually do very little child rearing.

I am not sure that mothers ever spent that much time raising children. Before modern apliances, just doing the housework and cooking took all day. The kids were fed and dressed and sent off to school, or out to play. "come home at dinner time or if you're bleeding".

That's a good point about why women were more tied to the home and yes plumbing and appliances have changed that, but they were with their children or at least in proximity.

Now, they do not work and leave the children in the care of a provider...frequently.

I will go ahead and say it.

THE SOCCER MOM TODAY IN THE USA IS THE MOST PAMPERED AND SPOILED WOMAN IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD OUTSIDE OF ROYALTY.

...and their voting habits are to say the least...fickle and emotive.
