Two busloads of activists on a cross-country tour to highlight the plight of undocumented farmworkers were stopped by the U.S. Border Patrol in El Paso Friday morning.

After four hours of detention and questioning, all the riders were released and were back on the road to San Antonio, a group spokesperson said.

"What can we do about this?" Take to the streets ourselves. If millions of American taxpaying citizens marched on Washington in protest of this (and other things), I wonder if it would have any effect or if they would just kill us all. I'm beginning to think that that is exactly what our so-called "government" wants. Every American who will stand up for our rights and our values killed so that they can get on with their agenda unhindered. The fact that this so-called "Freedom Ride" was allowed to happen at all tells me a great deal. It tells me, for instance, that the rule of law means absolutely nothing anymore. I, therefore, will refuse to abide by the law. If illegal aliens can break our laws with impunity, then why should I have any respect for the law? It also tells me that "our" government really IS intent on "electing a new people."
