I saw this scene in the corner of the TV screen after the debate, but seeing the picture does my heart good. They are really both decent men. I'm proud of both of them. But only one can win, and the Party, albeit unofficially, is making its decision about who that candidate should be.
Yes, they are.
Schwarzenegger surprised me with his knowledge about the issues; he has certainly crammed in the few weeks since he decided to run for governor. Schwarzenegger came across as a likable quick study.
Although McClintock did not display the charisma of Schwarzenegger, McClintock spoke clearly about the issues in a lucid, straightforward manner that I will remember for a long time. McClintock certainly would be my candidate of choice if I had the power to choose the next governor of California.
For the next statewide election, I hope McClintock will hire a acting/debate coach who will help him liven his personality on stage in order to attrack independent and swing voters. His brand of conservatism is not extreme at all, but just plain commonsense.
For this particular election, we have to settle for Schwarzenegger, and I will be rooting for him till October 7th.
