What bothers me about McClintock is that he's so damned rigid. I don't think he's well liked and I don't think he can work with anybody who doesn't do things the way he does. IT'S NOT HIS TIME.

Fine - just publish what the Tent Poles are constructed of - and if they changed construction material.
Any other approach is dishonest.
To: TJC
I too think that is a wise decision. Anyone but Bustamante - even Davis.

If the majority was still for him, they would have stopped it. Not even his disciples followed him because they didn't get it yet. Spoken like a true Bible scholar--NOT! They didn't stop it because they couldn't fight Rome and the life of Israel wasn't worth the life of one man. Once He was in the hands of Rome, His fate was sealed. The common man wasn't invited to the deliberations, just the leaders.

I'm reaching the conclusion that attempting to have a "discussion" on FR about the recall election in California is now useless, and probably counterproductive. The sides have made up their minds, and no one is going to budge, so why bother?

Why are some Conservatives so thick when it comes to this point?I think they think that if they had all the conservatives support that their candidate would win somehow. They don';t seem to understand that even if they had 100% GOP support they will still lose in CA.
In a state like Texas they would be correct. The average consrevative should be electable and it would be nonsense to elect someone with Arnolds bonafides but thats not the case in CA.
I also think they believe that if the rest of the conservatives would just go along with them and support McClintock that somehow the momentum of that would cause the mushy middle to run over and vote for him also. I don' think they see how that dynamic would energize the left more and make their turnout become higher in fear that a dyed-in-the-wool conservative would be elected.

Well, that little bit of blasphemy sure made your point. Yes, it did. Now I challenge you to show how it's blasphemy...

You are not going to move people that quickly.I can't possibly respond with anything that hasn't already been said a thousand times. So I'll just say you can't move people right by sliding left & leave it at that.

Ummm, I don't think they were the ones posting the vanity in support of their candidate.
Now, if you were to ask ME if I have all the answere, the answer is definitely YESSSSSS! LOL!
To: pgyanke
I assumed too much... you didn't get the point. You are voting not on your principles but on which way you think your neighbors will vote. That makes you a political lemming. Did you vote for Perot and help us end up with Clinton?? I am sure glad that so many people stood by their principles there. I hope they felt really fuzzy inside for 8 years. I am going to vote the direction that is best for me. How would voting for McClintock (who I wish was winning) and taking away a vote from someone who is ahead of Bustamante, going to make my life better?

If you want to know Schwarzeneggar's views ... read, learn. He's been pretty up-front about them.
To: FairOpinion
I took the ideological high road before. Took a stand on my principles. I walked up to the booth that year and pushed the Perot button.
The I realized later that I made a ghastly mistake, and am forever sorry for it. Who know how things would have been different. At least the term "lewinsky" wouldn't mean what it means now.

McClintock is no Reagan. Besides, I'm now convinced that McClitock is a RINO....The Republican Party -- volunteers, officeholders -- are moving to Arnold. For Tom, it's now all about Tom, not about what's best for the Party or for the state.

"Who is runing to the left? California can't go any farther left." If only that were true, there would be no danger in Bustamente taking over. As sick a State California already is, it promises to get worse under Cruz and--arguably--under Arnold. I'm in Virginny so my opinion means nothing in this debate, but it has become troubling to read so much internal fighting as folks trash McClintock supporters as traitors.
Fact is, I'm not so sure a Governor Schwarzeneggar would be that good of a thing fer the State or the GOP...MUD

No, I want to know what the CA. G.O.P. tent polls are made of - and if they are what is currently published - then why aren't they sticking with them.
If they have changed, when are they going to have the guts to tell the millions of G.O.P.'ers in the state?
That's what this recall is all about.
To: pgyanke
Spoken like a true Bible scholar--NOT!The McClintock supporters believe that people can change from being liberals if they just hear the right speech. That is beyond silly.
If the majority of people that heard Jesus preach were convinced he was God, you still believe that he would have been turned over to Rome by the Jews ?
Listen, the point is that it takes time for people to change their views. God knew this and is giving us thousands of years to get the message. CA is so far left its not possible for the majority to knowingly vote a conservative into office.
