"It's really a shame because they've taken these normally gentle animals and made them fighting machines." What? He doesn't know squat about Roosters if he really believes this, their brutal birds. Their even violent when they breed, if you don't believe go to one of these chicken farms and watch. It might be a brutal sport and I don't agree with it at all, but chickens are not the peaceful animals that PETA and the chicken rescuers would have you believe. Trust me I live on a Ranch/farm.

I'll second that.
I have had to 'euthanize' a few roosters that got too big for their britches.

My grandfather had the meanest big White Leghorn,he would cirle and spur you from behind, if you didn't pay attention.

Sent an uncle to the hospital for stiches.

Mine aren't too bad; they only get a bit riled when trying to breed. Or when there's a hen in a nest where another hen would like to be.

I have one hen that sorta likes to be carried around. She likes to do her own thing away from the other hens.
